Favorite dip at a party?
Hummus Guacamole or Salsa. Other than that, I'm not a big dip person.

I have a love hate with that cheese based dip.... Quaso (?spelling) especially when its warm,
usually the dip is too spicy for me but I manage to stuff some :)
Speaking of which...I was thinking of having a make your own nacho bar. Has anyone ever done that? Do you think I could just put queso in a fondue pot to keep it hot? Or any other suggestions? And does anyone have a good queso sauce to recommend, either to make or buy?
A diy nacho bar sounds amazing. I think it woyld be fine in a fondue pot. You could use a crockpot too. You could also add a crockpot of seasoned ground beef for extra deliciousness.
ya baby, sounds yum!! I agree 100% with MC09
I'm actually doing a DIY nacho chili bar so I'm going to have chili in my crockpot and then I was thinking the queso in the fondue pot and then have all the toppings for chili and nachos.
Keeping the chips warm would be ideal but I have no idea how I would do that. I'm having the party in my backyard.
I was thinking about the chip issues, if you have a warming draw as part of your stove or on a low setting place in the oven.

Totally! Seriously though it's pretty much the filling from a baked clam minus the shell- so you can totally eat it with a spoon like you would a baked clam. It's delicious

Favorite dip at a party?
The hot clam dip is the BEST. We have it at all of our holiday parties!~
These are also a huge hit: Ultimate Seafood Dip 1 8oz. pkg cream cheese, set out on the counter for an hour 1 can cream of mushroom soup ¼ cup finely diced green onion ¼ cup finely diced celery ¼ tsp. old bay seasoning, optional 1 container real lump crabmeat ¾ lb cooked shrimp, chopped 1.5 pkgs Knox Gelatin 1 cup Real mayonnaise Salt and Pepper to taste
1. Dissolve gelatin in crab juice from the can, set aside. 2. With a whisk, beat together cream cheese and soup in a saucepan, heat thoroughly but don’t boil, remove from heat. 3. Stir in celery and onion and Old Bay. 4. Flake crabmeat with a fork, add to saucepan, add shrimp. 5. Stir in mayo and gelatin, salt and pepper.
Line a mold with plastic wrap. Pour into mold and chill until set, 6 hours or overnight.
White Pizza Dip
2 cups (16 ounces) sour cream 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided 1/4 cup chopped pepperoni 1 envelope Lipton savory herb with garlic soup mix French bread baguette slices, toasted
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°. In a small bowl, mix sour cream, ricotta cheese, 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, pepperoni and soup mix until blended. Spread into a greased 9-in. pie plate. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake, uncovered, 35-40 minutes or until bubbly. Serve with Pizza Dough breadsticks or toasted baguette slices.

This is my aunt's staple. She serves it with wheat thins. I have to consciously remove myself from the area when its around or I will shovel every bit that I can into my mouth.
