Favorite dip at a party?
This weekend I am having yet another party at my house. Luckily though, this time it's just physically at my house but everyone else is taking care of the food and drinks. My kind of party!
Anyway, I am in charge of munchies. I am kind of sick of my usuals. What are some of your favorite dips to serve?

Hot clam dip is awesome- like a baked clam without the shell
I also make a yummy hot cheesy/bean dip that is a huge hit...served with Frito Scoops it's awesome
Buffalo chicken dip- delicious and goes so fast- serve with celery sticks and/or frito scoops or crackers or small pieces of bread
7 layer taco dip
Let me know if you want any of the recipes

Favorite dip at a party?
I can't find the actual recipe but from what I remember it is....
1lb hot or sweet sausage (or a mix) 1 package cream cheese 1ish cup of shredded mozzarella 2 bell peppers chopped 1 can diced tomatoes Salt, pepper, garlic, eyeball it
Remove sausage from casing, sautée until crisp. Throw everything g including the cooked sausage into the slow cooker, 2-3 hours on low. Stir and serve. I like to use torn up pieces of Italian bread to dip.

Guacamole or salsa, as long as cilantro isn't in it.

It’s Pioneer Woman. It’s actually artichoke and olive. It’s amazing.
Hot Olive and Artichoke Dip June 26, 2009 276 PREP TIME: 10 Minutes DIFFICULTY: Easy COOK TIME: 25 Minutes SERVINGS: 6 Servings INGREDIENTS 1 can Artichoke Hearts (14 Oz. Can) 10 whole Black Olives 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese (1 Pack) 1 cup (Real) Mayonnaise 1 whole Egg 1/4 cup Red Onion, Diced 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese 3 dashes Worcestershire Sauce Salt and Pepper, to taste Cayenne Pepper (for Spice) INSTRUCTIONS Combine all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse 5 to 8 times until mixture is combined but not totally liquefied. Stir and check seasonings, then pour into a small casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.

Speaking of which...I was thinking of having a make your own nacho bar. Has anyone ever done that? Do you think I could just put queso in a fondue pot to keep it hot? Or any other suggestions? And does anyone have a good queso sauce to recommend, either to make or buy?

A diy nacho bar sounds amazing. I think it woyld be fine in a fondue pot. You could use a crockpot too. You could also add a crockpot of seasoned ground beef for extra deliciousness.

I'm actually doing a DIY nacho chili bar so I'm going to have chili in my crockpot and then I was thinking the queso in the fondue pot and then have all the toppings for chili and nachos.
Keeping the chips warm would be ideal but I have no idea how I would do that. I'm having the party in my backyard.
