Best Workout for Weight Loss
SO I know you are going to tell me that its all diet and I know that but I am still asking this age old question as to what work out works best for weight loss.
Last winter I did little to no exercise. This past winter I have been walking an average of 15 miles per week -sometimes more and I have not lost one single ounce. Its disheartening as I don't have a lot of time to work out and I feel like I am wasting my workout time with power walking and its not working.
Any advice
TIA

Best Workout for Weight Loss
How much are you looking to lose? I would incorporate some light weight training. 3-5 pound weights. Also you can do some HIIT exercises with your own body weight (high intensity interval training). YouTube has a ton of videos.

Re: Best Workout for Weight Loss
Weight training. Muscles burns more calories at rest. When you build some muscle you burn more calories in general
And remember, you can't out exercise a bad diet. A lot of people think...oh I worked out today, I can treat myself to more dessert, booze, whatever. That will undo a your gains made by exercising

Best Workout for Weight Loss
Weight lifting and HIIT
Look into BBG by Kayla Itsines - 28 minutes. They can be done at home or at a gym. They are primarily body weight exercises in the form of a HIIT circuit.
Making working out a habit is important. Once you get used to doing it 3-4 times a week, you will start to look forward to it. It has to be something that you prioritize and schedule initially and then it will become second nature.
ETA: If you do decide to lift, start with a weight that causes you to struggle the last 2-3 reps while still maintaining proper form.

Re: Best Workout for Weight Loss
Running HIIT which includes strength you want to build your large muscles like back and legs cause you continue to burn fat even when youre sitting when you have good muscle. I loved it when i heard that lol

Re: Best Workout for Weight Loss
I lost 70 lbs on WW (watched what I ate) but the only exercise I did was cardio. I aimed for at least an hour each day and did either walking, elliptical, or eventually ran.

Re: Best Workout for Weight Loss
I swear by Beachbody. Many of their workouts are HIIT like the PPs have mentioned. I've got a subscription to their VOD service so I'm able to switch up what I'm doing when I get burnt out on one program. If you check out their blog it has a ton of posts with highlights from their different programs that you can use for free if you're not looking to spend money:
Arms: https://www.beachbodyondemand.com/blog/best-arm-workouts-exercises Legs: https://www.beachbodyondemand.com/blog/best-leg-exercises-leg-press-alternative Back: https://www.beachbodyondemand.com/blog/best-back-workouts-exercises Chest: https://www.beachbodyondemand.com/blog/fitness/chest-workouts
Using some of these along with a little basic cardio you can easily put together a balanced workout routine that will yield results for you as long as your diet is good.
I know you said you know already, but it really can't be overstated how important your diet is! If you aren't already it would be a good idea to start counting calories! https://www.myfitnesspal.com/ is an awesome (and free) way to do so. Also make sure you're drinking enough water! Most people don't get anywhere near what your body needs in a day and it makes a big impact on our appetite. This is another area where a free app that reminds you to keep on track is a big help!

Re: Best Workout for Weight Loss
Look into Whole 30...I've lost 30 lbs doing it twice, but it's a totally different way of eating, more of a lifestyle change that takes time getting used to. It's mostly protein, veggies and healthy fats. I lost most of the weight without exercise but that always helps you get better results.
