Must have leftovers!

That's the ONLY downfall of going to a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. When I wake up half hungover the next day, there's no corn casserole or stuffing to eat for breakfast!

There’s no one favorite

I love my MIL seeet potato casserole with brown sugar crust.
My homemade Mac n cheese that I ever make any other time because it’s so unhealthy lol
The stuffing that’s not difficult but again, has a lot of butter in it - I cook pretty healthy most of the time.

What’s ur mac and cheese recipe?

It’s so simple and delicious

4 tbsp salted butter
4 tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
2 cups whole milk
1/2 lb fresh sliced deli yellow American cheese (I used land o lakes but whatever kind you like)
1/2 block of yellow cheddar cheese
1 box elbow macaroni
Sprinkling of Pocatello pecorino Romano cheese
Black or white pepper to taste

Cooked macaroni according to box (I always cook Aldente) and put aside.

Melt butter in medium saucepan (I use my Dutch oven pot); remove from heat. Add flour, stir until smooth (I use a whisk). Add sat. Return to heat; gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Add American cheese and cheddar cheese slowly to melt as you go. Add pecorino and black pepper to taste.
Pour macaroni into the cheese sauce, mix and taste. If it feels like it needs something, it’s probably just more pecorino and pepper.

I keep some on the side for the kids who don’t like a crunch top. And out the rest in a Pyrex. Top with flavored bread crumbs and almost another 1/2 stick of butter cut up along the top and bake on 375 -400 til browned and bubbly.

Delish!! The American cheese makes it the creamiest Mac n cheese I’ve ever had

Sounds yum!!!! Do u think it can be made today or is it better fresh?

Much better fresh. It can dry out if you make it in advance. I bake it right before I serve it. Bird comes out and rests for about 40 min or so. While that’s resting I bake the stuffing (with turkey drippings poured over the top of it), reheat corn pudding and bake the Mac n cheese I make the Mac n cheese probably about 2 hours before it’s baked.

I’m starving lol

I made it and it came out.....AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! Thank u so much for the recipe! I’ll def save it for next year! It was so freaking good!

We actually didn’t have too much turkey left over. I ended up giving it to my BIL since he’s single. My husband was annoyed today because he couldn’t make a nice turkey sandwich!
