My son is in K. We are allowed to send cards in for each classmate but they have to be by Feb 1 so they can quarantine them before handing them out on the 12th.
This is absurd! There’s plenty of research now that covid does not live on surfaces for more than a few hours. 12 days is ridiculous
This is what is so frustrating. Where do these schools come up with these nonsense rules? Who are they consulting about this? It's clearly not scientists or medical professionals.
Probably some nutjob parent they want to keep quiet

Valentines ideas?
We are allowed to bring things into school but they have to be in 72 hours prior. I think it really has to do with insurance reasons. Insurance companies are afraid of getting sued if someone gets Covid so they are making more restrictions than the CDC. For our PTA unit (which is the same for all NYS PTAs) our insurance will not allow us in the schools at all. They said we are not covered if anyone gets Covid and if they sue during a PTA activity then we can all personally be sued as they will not cover it. It's all ridiculous.

I haven't heard of any but it's the threat of one that is making them limit what can be done.
