What did you want to be when you grew up?
And are you actually doing that job?

When I was VERY little I thought being a cashier was the coolest job in the world.  As I got older, I wanted to be a teacher. I ended up doing both. I was a cashier for years throughout high school and college and then went on to be a teacher until I stopped working when I had my DD.

Ever since I used my first terminal/mini computer in 5th grade (green text, not even DOS), I knew I wanted to go into the computer field.
Joined the Computer Club in Middle School, self-taught Programming class in HS (The 6 in my class all figured out everything on our own because there weren't any teachers that knew anything about computers yet... ). BS in Comp Sci, wrote software for 6 years, and now I'm in IT.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A emergency medicine MD. My biggest regret in life is not going to med school.
I’m a cancer researcher (now on the research operations side). It never occurred to me to not work in medicine. But, not a doctor.

I wanted to be a bank teller (loved playing bank as a child) or a manicurist.
I am not either of these things.

I wanted to be a pediatrician because I thought you could make a lot of money and help people in the process.
I later learned that you could help people, but would be required to be on call and would probably have a lot of debt so I changed my mind in college.
