Looking for bank recommendations
Bank of America just pissed me off for the last time today. Where do you do your banking and do you like them?

Re: Looking for bank recommendations
Capital One and they SUCK. I do NOT recommend them The only reason we haven't switched is it's such a pain to switch all the direct deposits and automatic payments we have set up. But they have like no branches anymore and the ones they do have are rarely even open! It's awful

Looking for bank recommendations
We use BOA and TD and they are both eh... TD for the same reason Nell mentioned above...
I work with Key Bank with a group I am on the Board of and they are quite pleasant to deal with.

We do our banking with Teachers Federal Credit Union and have not once had any issue. Highly recommend.

Re: Looking for bank recommendations
I've been with Teachers Federal Credit Union, and Suffolk Federal Credit Union for decades. Mortgages, car loans, accounts... Every 7-11 has an agreement with every Credit Union, so no ATM has a withdrawal fee. Also, all CUs work with each other (for the most part), so you can do a lot of ATM withdrawals, and a lot of in-person banking through other CUs. They both have nice phone apps, so I haven't been to a branch office in years. They typically have better rates than traditional banks.

We have Capital One as well. It is crazy how there are no branches anymore. We are in Kings Park and there was one close to us on 25A that closed down, then the next one Smithtown on 25A that closed down the only one near us now is in Commack in the Mayfair Shopping Center. I never have cash on me because I hate having to drive all the way there just for the bank. I really need to switch.

Looking for bank recommendations
I've used Chase for pretty much everything for years and have not had any problems. My auto loan (opened last year) is from BoA and I hate them - their website sucks, their customer service sucks. I would never do any other banking with BoA after this experience

Yes, credit unions are the best.

Re: Looking for bank recommendations
AVOID Capital One at ALL costs!!! No branches, phone reps are entirely useless. It is essentially becoming an online bank.
That being said, I would recommend Chase. I've been a customer since they switched WaMu to Chase and I have never had any major issues. All problems were resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.

Looking for bank recommendations
I left Capital one for Ridegwood and I'm very happy, they are very helpful. NY based bank which I love. Always some to help and answer questions. NEFCU AKA Joiva but I'm not thrilled with not having real tellers at most branches. STAY AWAY FROM CAPTIAL ONE

I had a business account at WAMU it was great until Chase took over. I puller all money and switched to North fork...those were the days, North Fork was a great bank until Capital One took it over to cover all their credit card debt

Looking for bank recommendations
I tend to stay away from any bank that must cover credit card debt. BOA, Capital One etc. BOA has some polital policy I disagree with and wont bank with them, plus, they have horrible cc policy

BoA sucks, I never had them but there branches close early, are scarce and it’s even difficult to deposit money into someone’s account. My aunts use them and I always tell them to switch.
I like TD Bank and Chase.

North Fork was just a bank, taken over by Capital One because they had a lot of credit card debt and needed a "banks" money to cover their debt.
Not sure I'm explaining it well.
