parents/pediatric medical folks

a family member has a 4 month old that is doing some odd rapid breathing intermittently. it's like panting. baby did not change colors. was not crying or in distress at all.

She was taken by ambulance to get checked out, the hospital found no issue and didn't know why this was happening but her vitals were stable. she will see her regular doctor.

anyone have any idea about this symptom or experience this?

Could she have been excited about something? Over stimulated? My kids did that every so often, but never to where I thought they needed to be taken by ambulance.

She's a very happy kid, she's always giggling/smiling. So this was unusual behavior; but she wasn't agitated or crying that's the weird thing. It's just intermittent.

Nothing was happening to stimulate her or excite her, it just came on. Maybe she was excited internally!

I've seen a video of it. it looks like this except she's not being stimulated, it just comes out of nowhere

I watched the video, and it just seems like how the baby laughs. Maybe the other baby saw somthing she thought was funny and started to laugh?

baby saw the regular MD, she did the panting during the MD visit. The doctor said it is most likely behavioral and was not concerned. said to monitor. said babies do strange things!
