Re: WWYD In This Situation
I would document as much of his business as possible & leave my DH. I'd stay with family & friends. Not a chance I'd stay with someone who had such disregard for my children.

Re: WWYD In This Situation
I know what I would do, and that would be leave. But I have a support system in place that would help me and my children. Your sister obviously does not. Quite honestly, no matter what you say, she's obviously bent on staying or else she'd be gone already. There's nothing you can do but listen and be there for her when she hits rock bottom enough to finally take some action against the situation.

Re: WWYD In This Situation
this is really heartbreaking for your sister and you. I'm so sorry -- I know this is hard for you too.
I realize easier said then done but if it were my sister I'd encourage her to leave him and have her move in with me. YES... I know it's a lot and I know it's costly but I promise you this "inconvenience" is small when you consider the benefit to your sister and your nieces/nephews.
Once she is with you can devise a plan to make ends meet and get her assistance through the state.
If you choose that road let us know and I'm sure we can all pull together to help make it a little less of a burden for all of you.
For now, I'll keep her and her children in my prayers.

To step in, as Summer's friend, this is not an option, she doesn't live anywhere nearby and (Summer, correct me if I am wrong) she has no interest in coming here.
I am sorry that she is going through this, and I know you want to help her and it is really hard on everyone
