We literally did not tell anyone in my family that we are TTC until just last week.

We always just wanted to come to my parents house for a holiday and announce our pregnancy. Once we started down the IF journey, we said we wouldn't tell unless we ended up having to do IVF. So now that we are there... we told my parents. We also live OOS and wanted to tell them in person.

It's bad enough that they'll know I did it at least once to get pregnant

I told everyone we are TTC. I don't like to hide things from my family. I also need their support, so they need to know what is going on to be able to give it!

see my mom is so damn open about that stuff--she's come straight out and asked me what my DH's penis size is. she's not afraid to tell me that i have to keep a husband you have to keep "his stomach and his d*cky happy"

I told my parents and my closest friends, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have kept my mouth shut with my friends.

I have a few that constantly ask me ( i am not telling anyone until I am past my first trimester , only my parents know) and I hate lying about being pregnant.

The less people know, the less pressure you put on yourself I think.

No one knows except 2 of my closest friends. All I heard before we started TTC, was how I HAD to have another one, and I HAD to give DD a sibling. It got on my nerves soooooo badly, that I don't want anyone knowing we're trying.

We're not telling anyone. I don't want people wondering or asking questions all the time. And I want it to be a surprise. But everyone knows how much DH and I want children.

my sisters and mom know cause i tell them everything but other than that no, i dont go into details about DH and I with anyone.

We did not come out and tell our familys. But its not a secret either. If they ask we will tell. Our close friends know. I dont like how people come out and ask how come you dont have kids yet?

My family knows - we are very open about everything. That, and the fact that they have all been trying to plan numerous vacations and I am trying to work it all out somehow!

We did not tell. Obviously they know now since I got the m/c. We are not announcing that we are trying again. They all assumed we would try for #2 again when we announced the last pregnancy.

We've only told a handful of people that we're TTC. We went a few months without anyone knowing and then decided to tell a select few.

I'm happy on one hand that not a lot of people know b/c I didn't want the "so, anything yet?!" questions but then on the other hand we get the "when are you guys having kids". I think that hurts a little more b/c we're going to our 9th month TTC.

I have been talking to my mom about us starting to try so now she asks everyday. I guess i probably should have kept it to myself

welllllll whenever people asked in the past....we would say "After Europe we plan on starting a family"

Europe has come and gone......catch my drift? We shouldn't have done that.

My sister & 2 best friends know a lot more right now (So I had someone to cry too )

we chose to keep it more quiet than not.... it reduces stress and pressure of the "anything yet" questions .... but with that being said it becomes more emotional, and you have more questions , as the months carry on.

Everyone here is very helpful and supportive - but sometimes having your BBF or Mom or whomever to share a hug or a quick phone call is unlike anything else.

We created a fake LIF name for the reason of lurkers. But due to health issues and not to upset our families, we have decided not to tell them we are TTC.
Which made the hoidays that much harder. All our family showing up with their uncontrollable kids asking us when were we going to join in their fun!
IMHO, TTC is something that is between you and your DH. If you choose to share it with a board like this where you can vent, cry, laugh and learn, without nosey family members voicing their opinions then thats great. Again IMHO...TTC is you and your DH deciding together as a family that you want to add another, and it's no ones business other than yours.
Nookie, Nookie Nookie......a million times over and enjoy it each time! And if you want to share with your family that you and DH are trying or just letting mother nature take her course...let THEM feel uncomfortable knowing that you and DH are having a ton of nookie every night while they are worrying about tomorrows traffic!!!

DH and I oly told our two closest friends. I don't want the added pressure of everyone knowing that we are trying and having months go by with nothing. And I also really want to suprise my family
