1/2 days for paretn teacher conferences?
How many a year does your schools have? We are on our third or forth day 1/2 day and one full day off for the year. I thought it was only in the fall and one day, but then again I am new to this.

work - 3 half days for conferences in the spring, but also a half day for PD
home - 2 half days, but since we are 1/2 day K classes are cancelled

For parent teacher conferences we have two half days during the year. The last report card of the year ( last day of school) is also a half day but no parent teacher conference.
BUT my school has minimum 1 half day per month for teacher trainings/meetings. Last month there were FOUR half days and this month there will be two..... in addition to the long Easter break

I guess this is the norm then. I didn't realize they even had off til I saw a sign on the other elementary school saying they had a half day.
Erica - I would rather no school then I can drop them off at the sitter, 11:35 is before any of us can get home. At least my mom is here earlier then normal she can hopefully get them.
They will enjoy the half day though.

Ours has none. The teachers schedule them during specials (gym, library, music, art) or at night.

In addition to our parent teacher 1/2 days, we have 3 extra 1/2 days this month for Kindergarten Entrance Screenings (for the incoming kids) which is really annoying for me to arrange sitters for these days :( Current K teachers evaluate incoming students.

That is annoying. That's another thing that doesn't impact classroom time at our school. They have the gym teacher, the nurse and the speech therapists perform those screenings in our district.

Where I work, we have 4 total. 2 in the Fall, 2 in the Spring.
