1 day at Magic Kingdom
Hi All,
We have a cruise booked with a stop in Port Canaveral. As an excursion we would like to do Magic Kingdom with our almost 3 year old.
Any tips or advice?
TIA!

Prioritize what you want to do before you get there. Go to the things that are important to you first so you don't miss out.

Are you hell bent on going? You really have VERY limited time in the park. You will be able to do 3-4 things at most before heading out. It's a ton of money for not much time. I personally think you're better off doing another park.

Which park would you recommend? The upside is that we won't have to pay for her. And while I know next to nothing about these parks I was told that MK has all the princesses.

Re: 1 day at Magic Kingdom
I'd do it if you don't mind not seeing everything. And eating from the food kiosks while walking the park.
What day are you going? The crowd calendars would determine the crowd level. If it is an emptier day, I would still go and just prioritize your top 5 must-dos. Otherwise, it probably isn't worth it. But any chance I would have to go to Disney I take. Personally, I don't like cruises and if we stopped in Florida, I'd rather do Disney over anything else.
But I guess other options would be Animal Kingdom, which I heard you can see everything in a half day so that could be leisurely and fun, however it is animals. No princesses.
You can also do Seaworld probably, if you were all into that.
I think Hollywood Studios is supposed to be smaller and they have all the Disney Jr. and Frozen stuff. They have a frozen sing-along and I hear they have mickey mouse clubhouse and sofia the first stuff.

The parks are at least an hour from the port, so keep that in mind.
We were there for a day before a cruise last week and decided to not spend the money - the MK is over $100 per person to get in, and a taxi each way is $125. You will spend well over $500 for a few hours at the park.

Re: 1 day at Magic Kingdom
I would personally do SeaWorld over Disney for the short amount of time you will have. And let's not forget, it may be an hour to Disney, but to get to Magic Kingdom could be at least another 30-40 minutes on either the monorail or boat, based on the crowds. We have done that cruise itinerary twice. I don't think the works are worth it, but that's just my opinion. Once we just stayed on board, the other time we went to Cocoa Beach for the day.

Re: 1 day at Magic Kingdom
We did it with two small kids!
It was great! We got about 5 hours in the park at MK (which was perfect for our kids for a first visit). It was expensive, but it was cheaper than a separate vacation there... And both kids were under 3 & free except for the bus transportation.
We travelled super light: no strollers, took some cash for food (lunch only as we had dinner late back on the ship).
We met Mickey & did about 7 "rides" in a relaxed pace. We had a quick lunch too.
There are apps that let you know how long waits are, you can get a fast pass in an area that you will hang out in as you go on other rides.
We did go in May, which was off season!

Re: 1 day at Magic Kingdom
How much time will you have at the parks?
You should be able to do most of Fantasyland and watch a show and parade. Make sure you have your fast passes booked.
Some people like to spend all day at the parks. We always go for 4-5 hrs per park per day. You won't be able to do everything but enough to have a good time.

So glad to hear this, thank you! This was exactly what we were thinking.
