1 year old waking up too early?

My DD is waking up around 5:45 or so. I have tried changing her diaper and giving her a bottle, but she wants up. Yet, she continues to yawn and needs a nap by 8am the latest. I have tried letting her CIO, but after 20 min. standing screaming at the door, I go in.

I guess it would be more bearable if she wasn't exhausted the rest of the day. She is still on 3 naps! 8-10, then she is exhausted by 1, sleeps until 2, then at 5 she sleeps for 45 min....agh, when will this change??

Has anyone been through this and/or have any suggestions?

what time is she going to bed? possibly an earlier bed time might actually make her sleep a bit longer.

Between 7:15 and 7:45. I am not sure she would go down before that. I just tried changing her diaper, snuggling and giving her a bottle, she is still standing crying in her crib. oh well

that's tough! my 13 month old sleeps from 7:15 or 7:30 until about 6 or 6:15, but we are so fortunate that she stays in there until 6:45am playing with her lovey. She takes 2 naps per day still.

I would try pushing up her bedtime to 6:30. At that age my son was in bed for the night by then.

Has she always been an early riser?

DS usually wakes up between 6 and 6:30. But I have noticed when he is teething/not feeling well he gets up closer to 4:45.

Maybe forget that 5pm nap and try putting her down at 7 for the night.

Well i hope it passes soon for you. Jacen was doing this and unfortunately it lasted about 3 weeks, maybe 4. He normally wakes around 6:15-6:30am and he was waking at 5:30-5:45am. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

nothing we did made a dent in him waking up early. It didn't matter what time we put him to bed, he was still up at that time.

The only suggestion i can give you is to not feed her right away. Try to stall feeding her for like 15 minutes. Then add another 15 minutes the next day and so forth. If she's getting fed at 5:45am for a few days, maybe she's getting used to that and her body is waking because of it. Chat Icon

Yeah just today I fed her at 6, normally she is downstairs with me playing for awhile until she has a bottle which is around 7:30 or so. I think I will try putting her to bed earlier tonight. She was an early riser always, but for awhile a month or so she was waking up between 6:45 and 9am, now we are back to 5:45 Chat Icon

My DS is also an early riser. He always has been though. If he is not sleeping at night by 7:00 PM, he is a beast and he still wakes up early! Every morning, I nurse him at around 5/5:30 or so then he goes back down for about an hour. He is up again at 6/6:30 for breakfast then down again around 7:30 for a 1 - 2 hour nap Chat Icon

When is his second nap after the 7:30 one?
