$135 ticket for not parking head in?
My DH got off the train today and got a ticket- because he didn't park head in- and it was $135 !  That's even more than a red light ticket, I can't believe it. Is there any way to fight this? The amount just seems ridiculous to me.

That's a lot. I know someone else who got a ticket like that for backing into a spot at the train station but it wasn't that much.

$135 ticket for not parking head in?
My train station has that too. I didn't know it was enforced! That sucks bc I don't normally back in but I pull thru a spot so I can just pull out if the spot in front of me is open. Weird rule. And that is an expensive ticket!

Yes I guess he did not see the sign to the entry of the lot "head in parking only" and he backed in, Maybe because the meter maids don't want to walk around to see if someone has a parking sticker for the lot, but I just think its a lot of money for this particular ticket.

I know there are parking lots in Garden City that have this rule, for whatever reason. They jump on it and ticket anyone who backs in right after they park.

OK. I park at Ronkonkoma with no parking stickers so I guess it's different there.

Bellmore started doing this....the want to be able to see the resident stickers on the back of the cars and if you back into a spot they cant see it. There are signs I think and they also put out warnings on the cars about a month or 2 back.

All of Hempstead now does it. I got a warning on my car at the Oceanside lot that they would be enforcing it, but there are no signs about it that I can see. Doesn't seem fair to me.

Farmingdale does this and the head in parking rule is so that all the permit stickers face out so they can see them. It's very common.

That reason about the parking stickers makes so much sense! I always thought it was a carbon monoxide thing b/c you shouldn't back cars In against buildings and then leave your car running awhile because carbon monoxide can accumulate. But the areas in train station parking lots seem too spacious for this to happen! The sticker reason makes so much more sense!

Yeah, there are signs up at my station but I always see TONS of cars backed in and they never have tickets on them. It's because they're too lazy to walk around and look for the sticker.
That is an insane amount.

It's horrible, as of August 8th, when everyone is away on vacay... I live in Oceanside and everyone is up in arms over this.
Obviously it's a ******** money-grab. We have front license plates in NY so I don't get it.

ToH is doing this. Many stations have also cracked down on illegally parked cars and have started towing.

You can get a ticket for this anywhere. A friend of mind got a ticket for this while parked on the street (with marked spots) in Babylon.

Yep! I wish they would actually do it more often since nobody can seem to park between two lines. Public Safety at my job actually tickets for this, I think it's $100. NOBODY there can park between two lines!

I can lol, but now I know. If I think I'm in my space but over to one side more than the other, I move the car to make it even lol
