18 year old cat sick
For the past five years my cat has stomach problems and her kidney is going. I made a decision not to have anymore tests run on her but treat visible problems.
I went to the vet last week for stomach problems and one of the vets is pressuring me to run tests on her. I told them I decided not to put her through any more tests but the vest insisted to check her thyroids which were fine.
I am going back tomorrow because my cat now has diarrea. What should I do if they pressure me again?

This is a tough one. Only you can decide. What if it's something simple to treat? Maybe only allow blood tests?
I have to admit that having blood drawn really stressed out my older cat, so it's hard to say what to do.

Re: 18 year old cat sick
I just lost 2 cats in a time span of only 3 months.... Yankee was 19 and Cindy was 17 1/2, my Yankee died from renal failure and my little Cindy had a combination of tumors on the belly and a weak heart..... I know exactly how you feel....you don't want to put them in uncomfortable situations and you want her to enjoy whatever time they have remaining. But if there are a few things that you can do that will make your cat feel more comfortable it is totally worth the temporary stress you might put her through I would have done anything for them if I could save them and still have them with me even if that would only prolong their lives for a couple of months
