1st Europe Vacation
DH & I are planning on traveling to Europe next May, somewhat of a 1st anniversary trip. We are thinking of either doing London/Paris OR Italy: Florence, Venice, Rome for approx 10 days.
Any advice on which trip to take?

Italy. Personally you don't need THAT much time in London, and then ur left with Paris that you can do in several days as well...I feel like Italy you'll be able to get more out for if that makes sense?

Re: 1st Europe Vacation
You don't need a lot of time in Paris. I did not like it - besides the eiffel tower and some museums. I wouldn't want to spend more than a few days there.
London was amazing. Also, everyone speaks English so if this is your FIRST time abroad it might be helpful to do london/paris because it is a good introduction to abroad traveling and you might feel better BUT
ROME was my favorite place EVER. If you like Italian food you will be in heaven. Plus there is a lot to see and do. I did not want to leave. It is also easier to travel around Italy, so you can go to more places like the ones you mentioned.
I wish I had the chance to go back to Italy so my vote is you go there.

Re: 1st Europe Vacation
Congrats on your 1 year anniversary! My dh and I did our first European vacation last year to celebrate our 1 year anniversary as well. We did research and ended up going with a Mediteranean cruise that left out of Barcelona, Spain. It stopped at Naples, Florence, Rome, Nice, and Villefrance. We liked Spain and France but L ved Italy! My vote is Italy! FM me with any questions. Florence is amazing...so chic, the art is so impressive, shopping and food is great! Rome is like walking into a page from history....a real bucket list destination. I've heard Venice is enchanting as well.

Re: 1st Europe Vacation
It's like comparing NYC and California. t's really THAT different!
You need at least 4 days in in Paris but you will see everything or most of it in 1 week.
10 days might feel very long.
10 days would be better traveling through Italy. The weather will be warmer too.

Re: 1st Europe Vacation
I have done Venice/Rome/Florence and realy it was the best trip of my entuire life. Not to be cheesy, but it changed me. Just amazing words cannot describe.
Never been to London and Paris, but I would love to do so I have no comments for now.

Re: 1st Europe Vacation
I'm biased since I did London/Paris but didn't do Italy...I would do London/Paris. It was such a great vacation we took when we went.
No matter what, you can't go wrong with either choice!

I picked Italy..I haven't been there but I am not a fan of Paris or the Parisians. I know some people love it, but I'll never go back.

Re: 1st Europe Vacation
DH and I did the same thing for our 1st anniversary. I don't have that much of a desire to see Paris, but we were deciding between Italy and England. We wound up with Italy because we also had 9 days to split between those 3 cities and it was wonderful! I can't wait to get to England, but for some reason I felt like we needed to see Italy first!

Re: 1st Europe Vacation
I dont even know what I would vote. Honestly if it were up to me I'd like a Paris/Italy combo. We spent a week in Paris last year and I could have stayed longer. I'd love to have 10 days in Italy too. I dont think I'd need more than a day or two in London. So I guess if those are the choices I'd go Italy.
