2 under 2 moms that do not drive a minivan- I have a car question...
I am wondering what kind of car you have?
We are selling our Altima and looking for an SUV/non-minivan type of vehicle that will suit 2 carseats and a person (me) comfortably in the backseat.
Do any of you recommend what you drive?
TIA! Tara

I have a 2005 Rav4 (smaller than the current model), and while I can fit between the two seats, it is not comfortable. So I wouldn't recommend it if you plan to sit back there often (I'm rarely back there so it works well for me).

Re: 2 under 2 moms that do not drive a minivan- I have a car question...
Until my DC's were 14 months old the only car we had car seats in was a 2005 Camry. We have two Britax marathons in the car and they have plenty of room.
Double stroller fit into the trunk, both front to back and side by side.
The only challenge is no big shopping trips to Costco, etc. If all four of you go, a big grocery store trip is also a challenge.

I had a Cherokee Jeep but the gas was killing us when it was so high. We traded it in and I got an Acura. I am able to fit 2 car seats comfortably and I have been able to fit 2 strollers plus other items in the trunk (def roomy).

We have a Hyundai Sonata and no one (besides maybe a tiny 5 year old) can sit in the backseat with the carseats back there.

Honda Pilot. LOVE IT. Don't use the 3rd row though, takes away trunk space and too hard to get in and out if you have 2 car seats, however I've never needed it yet. I've climbed inbetween them from the front seat many times when necessary. My mom and MIL have sat inbetween them as well.
Without the 3rd row up I fit 4 strollers (double, single - travel set, umbrella and snap n go) and other stuff in the trunk.

I have a Jeep Commander, with 3rd row seating. Lots and lots of room for my DD and my 2 step-sons.

I have a GMC Envoy with 2 Marathons in the back. You can't fit a 3rd person back there unless you are 90 lbs soaking wet. I don't even think a child could fit between the 2 Marathons. My lease is up in 3 months and my next car is a toss up between the GMC Acadia and the Buick Enclave.

I have the mazda cx-7 and two car seats just fit. There is no way a body would fit back there too. I hate it!

We will be 2 under 2 and we have the new version of the CRV - I LOVE it. And 2 car seats will fit just fine in the back.
ETS: Nevermind! Sorry, I just saw that you wanted 2 car seats and a person. There won't be room enough for a person, unless you happen to be a very teeeeeeny tiiiiiny person

I have it and hate it.
We put Brody's infant seat behind the passenger seat and if you are sitting in the front passenger seat, you knees are practically in the windsheild.
DD is behind me (driver side) and her legs are squashed.
The is very little leg room, becaus of the 3rd row seat- which we never use.
I think the Pilot would be fine, for one car seat, if it was placed in the center.
I had a Mercury Mountaineer. I loved it!!! Plenty of room in the back.

I have a Tahoe and I have 2 car seats and an infant seat in there Same here. Well one convertible and we set up the infant base recently to make sure it all fit well. We still have ton of room & I would absolutely recommend a Tahoe if you can drive a truck.

We just bought a 2008 Toyota Highlander yesterday. We don't have 2 children yet, but we bought it with the plan that we will need to fit 2 carseats and another person in it someday.
It has lots of room in the back!
