20 weeks and cant sleep

any suggestions?

I am soo tired lately I feel like I did when i was 6,7 weeks and I am almost a zombie at work half the time and when i get into bed at night I cant fall asleep. I cant get comfy.. I toss and turn.. I seem to have so much on my mind and I cant get to sleep. My DH felt so bad last night bc he could see how uncomfy I was that he rubbed my head and told me nice stories till I fell alseep. He told me this morning he cant do that every night.... LOL LOL

I though this isnt supposed to happen till the end and I hought we are supposed to have lots of energy in the 2nd trimester?Chat Icon Chat Icon

I am about 19 weeks and feel the same way. I have good nights and bad nights, but more bad ones. I can not get comfy and I toss and turn all night. I plan on buying a body pillow this week and maybe it will help. Other than that...I don't know what to suggest. Chat Icon

Let me know if it helps and where you buy it. I am thinking of getting one too. I have been using a regular pillow in the meantime but have to move it when i switch sides which annoyes DH.

I, too, am 20 weeks. I am having the same problem and I bought a Snoogle last week. It is helping a little, but it takes up a lot of room in the bed.

I'm back to having my night sweats again too, like in the first trimester. I wake up drenched in sweat. Poor DH is freezing to death because I have the a/c on.

Re: 20 weeks and cant sleep

I am just under 18 weeks and I haven't slept through the night in weeks. I wake up with pains in my hips every morning around 3:30-4am. I finally fall back asleep and wake up again around 6am and never really get back to sleep. Then I am so tired all day long.

I went on Sunday to buy a body pillow and they were like soooo big I know DH would be so aggervated if I put that in the bed... its bad enough we need to share it with our 2 cats hahaha lol...

So I decided to get a EXTRA FIRM KING SIZE PILLOW from bed bath and beyond... and let me tell you, I have slept MUCH better with the last 3 nights... Still get up to pee a lot, but I can finally fall asleep!

Good Luck!

Re: 20 weeks and cant sleep

I'm 20 weeks now and had trouble sleeping for a few days. I bought a full body pillow but that didn't work because I had to use that for my head and my neck hurt in the morning.

Here's what I've done and so far, it's been really helpful, I'm sleeping a lot better. We have our bed next to the wall and I sleep on the wall side. I use my regular pillow for my head and then place another pillow or two next to the wall at a slight angle. This way, if i turn over, I'm never flat on my back (which i worried about). And if I decide to sleep on my other side, I just hug the pillows.

Hope this helps.
