how do you feel about it?

Katherine will be going to Pre-K FULL-TIME. Chat Icon Chat Icon I'm really starting to freak out about it. I had the option of five days full-time or part-time. I made the full-time decision while I was pregnant with #3 thinking it would be the only way for things to be manageable, but life took a different turn and now I'm second-guessing myself. She's going to use a lunch-box and be all grown up...Chat Icon

Even still, I know in my heart I made the right decision. She loves school and is really excited about going to her "daddy's old school" especially. (And oh yeah...I get FOUR WHOLE HOURS to MYSELF each week starting in September Chat Icon) But, oh boy...I guess it's really hitting me how fast time passes.

Sigh...

Since our public school kindy is half day I decided to do 5 day half day pre-k. DS will be going every morning too since he flips out if I try to get him to leave with me after dropping dd off.

It's going to be really weird not having them in the house every single day. I keep telling myself that I'll be able to clean the house easier, but I know I'll end up catching up on stuff I've DVR'd. Chat Icon

05 mom here! Chat Icon

Julia started pre-K last year and loved it! She's going 4 days a week starting in Sept, its not as long as I would like for her ( 2 1/2 hrs) but Julia loves to learn, and I feel she could handle longer days no problem, its a great school, and I love the teachers! I figured she will be away from me long enough when she starts Kindergarten next year Chat Icon Our babies are getting so big!

Jacob will be in pre-k full time from 9-2 and one day a week doing an extension of math and science 9 (1 hr more). After school he has his therapies and he is taking a sportime class and will be playing soccer. I am still debating about swimming and Kung fu ( which he did all last year), I might add one of those midyear depending on how he is adjusting to the schedule.

He has been going to preschool since he was 2, plus he is full time daycamp from 9-4 this summer. He will be fine with adjustment this year..

My son's been in preschool 5 full days a week since he was 2.5, so this year will be no different. He knows he's the Big Man on Campus this year and seems to already have "Senior-itis." Chat Icon

No real changes for us....Nate is in the Pre-K program at his daycare. It's accredited by Chicago Public Schools, so it's nice that he gets the academics and will be there all day.

In the fall, we have to start the application process to get him into a kindergarten program. I'm hoping he'll get into one of the magnet or gifted public schools but space is limited. If not we'll have to send him to a private school. Some of them I looked at ranged from $10-18K a year. Chat Icon

I am an '05 mommy. DD will be starting Pre-k in September for 3 half days a week. I am not taking it too well. She is an extremely smart & social child so I just know she is going to love it, but she's never been to school or even daycare before. The only people I've ever left her with are grandparents or family, so this is a whole new world for me. Plus, I'm still in shock that my babu is growing up!

I'm an 05 mom too. My son will start pre-k this September and will be going 5 days for 1/2 day. I'm excited for him b/c he really needs this and I'm sure he will do fine eventually. Not sure how he's going to handle mommy leaving him. I can't believe he's gotten so big. Chat Icon

I'm an 06 Mom here (Jan) and Noah is going to school at our local Church of England school starting in September. I am super excited about it, but nervous about the change in his childcare situation. He is going 5 days a week, 3 hours in the morning, and he is leaving the nursery he has been in for 2.5 years and changing to an inhome daycare type situation. I am scared sh1tless about the change, but I know its all going to be for the best...

I will let you all know how it goes! Good luck to everyone!

He will be starting Pre-K-4 for 4 days a week for 2.5 hours a day. (Well technically it is 3 classroom days and one enrichment painting class day). I am extending one of his class days so one day a week he will go from 930-230. I considered doing 2 full days since he loves school so much and loved the full day but it didn't fit into our schedule with other things we have going on. I thought about all 5 days but figured he has next 13+ years to go 5 days and I'll keep the one day open.

I can't wait for it to start - he misses it esp now with camp over. Although I haven't had the heart yet to tell him his 3 friends he keeps talking about all summer aren't going back to his school (they went to the universal pre-K program) and just found out yesterday his teacher who he had last year won't be his teacher again like planned (lost too many kids to universal pre-K so they had to combine classes and he lost out on his main teacher...Chat Icon )

I'm also an 05 mommy.

My DS will be 4 in November. He has attended full time day care for the last 3 years and this coming September he will be going to a full day preschool. I am so excited for him and he is beyond excited.
