Re: 2011 Official WW Thread!
Ugh I had one of those "mindless" eating days.
I tracked everything....almost. I didn't write down those cookies I snuck here and there or hershy kisses I was eating.
I was just so bored today I had nothing to do but eat (even when I wasn't hungry).
The bright side- tomorrow is a new day!

Re: 2011 Official WW Thread!
hi girls :) this week was my first week back on WW and i managed to lose 3.4 pounds! i'm liking the new Points Plus system...i like that fruits are 0 pts! i also did a little experiment and ate a few of my weekly points each day to see if i could still lose weight. my plan is to get back to the gym this week so hopefully that will help too.

Re: 2011 Official WW Thread!
I joined up again and started today. Just doing online because I know i'll never go to meetings. I lost just under 60 lbs last diet since I had DD but i've gained almost 12 back since her 1st birthday. I feel disgusting. My goal is 22 pounds by DH's birthday, March 12th.
ETA: I LOVE that fruits are 0 pts!

Re: 2011 Official WW Thread!
Started last night online with DH. This will be my third time doing this. Lost 38lbs the first time. Gained 8lbs and did it again a few years later and lost the 8lbs and 1 more but then got pregnant. I am up a total of 18lbs and want to lose it all by the summer.

Re: 2011 Official WW Thread!
I just re-joined WW today! I have been maintaining at my current weight for years and don't really need to lose - but I have an injury and can't exercise, so I want to make sure that I keep my eating in check since I don't have the extra calorie burn right now!
I gained about 2lbs over the holidays, so I'd like to take them off and maintain.
I like the new plan, I have been focusing on eating non processed foods for the past year so this plan definitely rewards that.

I'm back!!!!
I need to lose these last ten pounds that have been haunting me. I am motivated though, I have a cruise and I would love to wear a tankini instead of a onepiece.
I'm ready for the new WW and am praying it works for me.

Re: 2011 Official WW Thread!
I just started today on the new Plus system and love it b/c I can eat fruit until I'm blue in the face!
Can anyone explain the exercise points in plain English? How does it effect my points overall?

You earn Activity Points Plus values for exercising. You need to look up the values either on e-tools or in your pocket guide, but essentially, they are based on your weight and intensity level. You can swap these for food at the end of the day and/or week. So if you work out tomorrow and earn say 2 APP's, you can eat an extra 2 PP sometime during the week. You would use these if you surpass your Daily Points Plus Target, and before taking from your Weekly Points Plus Allowance.
However, just remember, if you don't use them by the end of the week, you lose them.

That's a great explanation - thanks so much!
So, do you think it's okay if I don't "use" them...I know it'll happen every once in a while when/if I go over so it's good to have. Also, I have the weekly allowance too, that helps if I go "over" as well.
I'm using my daily points, up to even have 1/2 left over per day....is it a bad thing to not use my Activity or Weekly Points?

My meeting leader always told me to NOT use the activity points. If you think about it.. weight loss comes down to calories in vs calories burned/out. If you burn em, don't eat em.
You should def eat all of your daily points per day. The main reason being, once you start to lose and your daily point allotment goes down, if you're already eating less you may hit a plateau. Does that make sense?
Enjoy your points!!
I don't know about weekly extra points. I never really dug into them officially. I weigh in on Saturdays. After my weigh in I allow myself to eat (in moderation) whatever I want and I don't count points. I assume this is me going into my weekly extras.
I've lost 53 lbs total and want to lose about another 30. My goal is 30 by April 29th. I fell off the bandwagon over the holiday, but i'm back on and read to shed the rest of this weight!!
Good luck everyone!

I can't imagine a leader telling you NOT to eat your Activity Points Plus values or your Weekly Points Plus Values. WW encourages you to absolutely use your Weekly Points Plus Allowance and use your Activity Points Plus IF you feel you need them.
While it is true that calories in v. calories out = weight loss, Activity Points Plus values are actually half the amount of daily Points Plus values. You have to burn more calories to earn them, so even if you eat them, they don't "weigh" as much as regular PP values. So there is still a caloric deficit of about half.

I defiantly agree with Laura!! I generally don't eat my AP but you CAN eat them. If I run 10 miles and earn 8 AP- I usually eat at least half. If I don't I will get overly hungry and there will be a huge caloric deficiency.

I go to Lynbrook on Saturdays... you can hear him for yourself. He says not to eat them. Why counteract calories you burn working out if it isn't necessary? If you need them.. sure.. if not, why take in unnecessary calories?

Ahhh, you go to Vic. Nice guy - great leader, I know him pretty well It is true that you don't HAVE to eat them, but if you feel you need them, they are there for the taking
