2nd Birthday theme related - WWYD?
I decided to have another BBQ party at house this year.
So DS was into the Backyardigans last year and guess what... he is STILL into the backyardigans.
I wanted to change "theme" but not sure what.
Do I do the same theme? Minus the emergency cake at BJs and do the cake I was "suppose" to make.
Or just pick a theme. It does not matter.
I wanted something he cared about. What's the point to have a theme if he does not even care about it. I would know when I look back at the pics that he was not into the theme while the pics would show something else.
I don't want no theme either.
Please help!!!!

I understand what you mean Sophie. Last year, for Troy's 1st, we did an Elmo theme. This year, while he still likes Elmo - we're going to do something different.
Does EJ have a new interest?
Troy has recently started showing serious interest in Fire Trucks, decided to do that as our theme this year!

He likes "shapes". So much for a theme! He is still just into his backyardigans as characters.
I have 3 months to "convert" him into something else.

Hmm...tough one!
I'd almost say do the Backyardigans again. Can you do a different spin on them somehow (I've never seen the show so I have no idea if that's possible). You could reuse any decorations that you had, so that's a money saver. I know you said you'd do a different style cake, so that's good.
I' don't see anything wrong with using the same theme again!

I agree. I would use the same theme if DS was still into it. Maybe come up with a different spin - something you didn't have the year before. But if that's what DS is excited about, no reason to switch.

I would do the same theme. He likes it and that's what matters. I've decided that no matter how much effort and stress I put into my girls' "themes" no one remembers or for that matter even cares what happened the year before. These parties are enough to drive you to drink!!
