2yr old sleep issues
DD has always been a great sleeper - still is....but lately, she will not go to sleep. She "goes to bed" just fine, but doesn't fall asleep for usually close to an hour! She rolls around in her crib, sits up, lays back down, etc. There is no screaming involved - just like she isn't tired. She wakes up between 7:30 & 8 and naps for 2 hrs, usually going down about 1:30-2. We put her down at night about 8:30 and let the games begin!
Any thoughts??

Re: 2yr old sleep issues
If she's ok then I'd leave her be. That's her alone time for herself, which everyone needs anyway. DS is 2 also and some nights goes to sleep right away and other times plays in his for almost an hour... Just talking, singing, rolling around, etc. He's fine so I let him be. He gets up at the same time no matter what anyway

Maybe add some more physical activities throughout the day to tire her a little more. I really would not worry too much if she eventually falling asleep. DD was doing this for a while but it was just a stage and it really did not last long.

ITA with Erica.
DD does the same thing and I am so thankful that we got the video monitor for this exact reason!

Can you try putting her in for a nap a bit earlier?

Re: 2yr old sleep issues
If she's not upset and doesn't appear to be overtired the next day, I would let her be. My 2.5 year old gives me a terrible time going to bed, but she always has. Screams for long periods before going to sleep. Sometimes she doesn't actually fall asleep until 10:30 or 11. But she seems fine the next day.

Re: 2yr old sleep issues
If she eventually falls asleep and she isn't upset about being in bed then just let it be. My DD had a phase where she would sit in her crib for sometimes 2 hours just talking and playing. She was never upset and never cried to get out so we left her alone and she would fall asleep eventually. It only lasted a few weeks and then she went back to passing out 5 minutes after we put her down.
