3 Hours too short for a shower?
Ugh so I thought I finally settled on a place for my baby shower and I come to find out the price quoted is only for 3 hours.
Can you really accomplish everything in 3 hours? Has anyone gone to or thrown a 3 hour shower whether bridal or baby??
The other option I have won't allow me to bring in my own cake or a dessert/candy table. I know it's just a cake but I feel as though it's part of the whole deal.
Thought? Suggestions?

No I think 3 hours is perfect. My shower was 3 hours and it went great. As a guest I prefer 3 hour showers as well! lol.

It's funny. I agree when I'm the guest but when I'm the host I don't want to be rushed.

I think 3 hours is fine. I know my bridal shower was 3 hours and there was no problem whatsoever.

I think you can make 3 hours work -- you may have to open up gifts a bit quicker than usual and cut back on the number of games you play, but if you love the place, I'd book it!

My bridal shower was a 3-hour brunch. My mom asked for my food to be served before the other guests and then I opened gifts while they ate. Everyone said they loved my shower because it didn't drag. There was plenty of time after gifts for the cake, pictures and socializing.

Mine was 3 hours and it was perfect. I didn't open gifts, though, and we didn't do a formal cake cutting or any games. They were wrapped in clear and on display for anyone who wanted to look them over.

3 Hours too short for a shower?
Mine was 3 hours and I actually wish we had done 4 hours. I hate being the center of attention, but I was due almost exactly a month after my shower and I felt completely rushed. I really wanted to take a break while opening presents because I was getting tired holding things and whatnot.

depends - if you will be there from the start should be fine...
went to a shower that ran over 4 hours - because bride didnt arrive til over half hour into it, and bingo was finished with still over 2/3rds gifts to open.
you can also request clear wrapping on invite to cut down on time.

You can have everyone wrap the gifts in clear so that your not spending so much time on opening presents.

I'm pretty sure mine lasted 3 hrs. U gotta be careful about opening gifts though, that can take a lot of time. I was actually rushing opening gifts because we were running out of time. Something to consider is maybe asking guests to wrap the gifts in clear wrapping paper or not wrapping at all. Btw, this was my bridal shower, for my baby shower, it was done at my sister's house so we had all the time in the world.
