31 weeks and still sleeping on my back!
Ran this by my OB today--because of my back injury, I am VERY limited in the positions I can sleep in...for anything more than 1/2 hour at a time, anyway.
At this point, I can get a good 4-hour stretch on my back.
I told my OB and thought she would yell at me...but she told me that as long as I'm not feeling dizzy or short of breath that it's fine!
Phew!

Re: 31 weeks and still sleeping on my back!
im sleepin on my back almost every nite, i dont make it four hours EVER..just because im totally uncomfortable at this point, but i have a broken left clavical so i cant lay on either side..if i dont lay on my back to sleep, im not sleeping lol i do wake up alot to move around, get up and eat, and go to the bathroom lol so i feel ok, but i do notice is comfy, cause on the rare occasion that i try to turn onto the "unbroken" side, she freaks out and starts kicking frantically lol

Re: 31 weeks and still sleeping on my back!
You know, I kept hearing that it was so bad, but the more I looked into and did my own research (and asked my OB) they all said that you're body will tell you when you should flip over. You will become short of breath, may feel dizzy, etc. Just listen to your body, and if sleeping on your back gets you a few solid hours before your body tells you to flip, then so be it. The baby is fine.

You know, they tell you all of these things are SOOOOOOOOO bad for you and/or baby and blah blah - My friend slept on her STOMACH until she was 8 months PG w/ both of her kids b/c that's how she was comfortable .........(I don't know HOW that was comfortable ....but she said it was the only way she could get any sleep .......)

I slept on my back almost every night, especially towards the end, b/c it was the only position I was comfortable in...baby is fine

Thats fine, your body will tell you if it can't handle it.
I would still be sleeping on my back if my little one didn't hate it so much. The minute I roll on my back she kicks up a storm......

I still sleep on my back at almost 32 weeks....that is the only position I am comfortable. If I didn't sleep on my back...I wouldn't get any sleep.

Yeah I think you would know if it was something you shouldn't be doing anymore. I can't lay on my back anymore, they propped me up for my last sono. I had big plans to get a facial then I realized there is no way I could do it.
