By the way... It comes with the option of picking it up at your local Apple Store or having it mailed to you....

I actually have an At&T plan but its not up for a new phone. So you can only buy it directly from apple if you put it on your exisiting account?? there is no other way? sorry for so many questions

Ok the error message just went away and I was able to reserve my IPHONE. I paid the 399 for the 16gb.
Did anyone reserve for pickup at a store? Did you get confirmation?

I just called the store where I was having it picked up and the gentleman said no you dont need a confirmation just come, I said how do I know you will have one for me he said we wont run out. I think im going to just order it and have it shipped to my work address now this way I know for sure Im definatley getting it on Friday and I dont have to deal with the long lines.

I'm just ****** that I can't get it for the $199.. Because I have a 2 year contract on my 3G I don't qualify for the retail price... I have to pay $399.

yes me too but im okay with that. I just wanted to make sure I get the phone. I just stayed on hold with 800-my apple for 2 hours to make sure I talked to a "real" person. She said the best thing to do is have it delivered. Even though you think you reserved it really doesn't mean anything at the store.
So that is what I did, it will be at my office on Friday the 19th

Update - helpful info for those who purchased the iphone 3G - 8G between June 1 - June 18:
Just got off the phone with customer care: according to the above dates, you will issued a full refund or if you like you can just do a swap and swap the 8G for the 16G 3G S - this is what my DH is doing..

And for the looks of it... It will not happen... AT&T has been a joke for Apple for the last 2 years... At the WWDC conference on Monday every time they said something about AT&T the audience would laugh...

Get the Palm Pre if you are on Sprint. My friend has it and it's a sweet phone.
I played with it for a good hour. It has just about all the features of the iphone, along with a real slideout keyboard. The plans are way cheaper too than ATT which is a big rip-off.
I was also able to post on LIF from it, which I am not sure if the iphone browser can do.
I want one but they are sold out everywhere.

Ok thats good to know. I did a search on the site and saw some posts from people saying they were having a problem. The Pre and iPhone essentially have the same web browser so I was curious as to why it wasn't working.
I heard Verizon was going to try to get the iPhone in 2010. Jobs may not forget the snub, but he is not stupid either.
