4 month old questions
db is jsut 4 months. she has good head control, and will hold a rattle if I give it to her, but doesn't really reach out for toys. she has turned from tummy to back, but not for several weeks. should i be worried about the no reaching yet? she is a very laid back child in general. will ask ped at check up this week, but looking for some experienced advice

Re: 4 month old questions
DS is 18 weeks old (4 1/2 months) and on his tummy has just started to reach for toys. We gave him a toy train for hanukkah and he started to push it back and forth. He will bat at toys above him on the play mat. Does your DC have a activity mat with dangling toys to bat at?

Re: 4 month old questions
Well, for DS it litterally happened this week that he started to reach for the train. He has not reached for any of his other toys. I felt like he would bat at the toys above him accidentally too. Perhaps a train or moving toy would help.

Re: 4 month old questions
DD is 4 /12 months. She has rolled over front to back and back to front but hasn't done it in a week. I noticed that since she hasn't done that, she has been sleeping on her sides at night. Today I tried paying more attention to her on the playmat and put down a comforter for her to roll around on.
She does reach for objects and holds them but sometimes is lazy about it. I know this is when they just learn to do this so I'm not that worried that she cannot hold onto anything for a long period of time just yet. Do you try holding things out for her to grab at? When I dangle things in front of DD - she does try.

Re: 4 month old questions
DS is 5 months old. He has yet to roll from front to back. He rolls only from back to front.
When he was 4 months - I would hold a toy in front of him - sometimes he would grab it - sometimes he wouldn't. Now, he goes for things. I think they are just getting the jist of it at 4 months - I wouldn't worry!
