4 week old is COMPLETELY Day/night reversed

My 4 week old has her days and nights switched...she sleeps all day (I wake her to feed her every 3 hours, but she falls right back to sleep and sleeps until the next feeding). At around 1am, she wakes up, and hardly sleeps at all between feedings, until about 10am, when she cluster feeds, and falls asleep for the day.

I've tried to wake her up and keep her awake during the day, but she is a sound sleeper...also, since she is up all night, I've given in and now I sleep when she does b/c I NEED the sleep.

Im EBFing...will she eventually work this out??? I'm at a loss for what to do...

Re: 4 week old is COMPLETELY Day/night reversed

We did a few things with my daughter:
1. woke her 15 minutes before her feeding
2. kept her awake for 15-30 minutes after her feeding
3. fed her every three hours during the day (not at night)
4. kept the lights/tv/music on during the day even when she was sleeping
5. kept it dark when it was nighttime and she was sleeping
6. white noise machine when she was sleeping at night
7. let her fall asleep in a swing at night and then transferred her to a drib once she was sound asleep.

Hopefully some of that will help! Good luck!

All good tips.

I'd add that you should try taking her out for walks and stuff in the daytime -- let her feel the sunlight and help kickstart her internal clock.

DD was the same way. She was a winter baby, so it was hard to get out sometimes. She worked it out around 10 weeks.

My only advice is to get DD outside as much as possible. The daylight and the warm air will tire her out and hopefully will help her switch over.

I had DS in June and had him out a lot. He slept at night.
