4 yr old & stomach issue - WWYD
My nephew has had stomach issues for 2 weeks. He has had stomach cramps and diarrhea....no fever or cold.
Last night we went to dinner and he did not seem like himself....he was so sad and almost depressed. It was odd. He was insisting on going home. When he went home he ran to the bathroom.
My sister took him to the ped last week and the ped said it was normal. That kids his age go through bouts like this and that its probably his diet. The ped recommended adding fat to his diet and have him switch to lactaid (whole) instead of 2% milk.
Am I nuts - does this sound like BS? I told my sister to take him to another ped for a second opinion.

the doctor should have taken a stool sample for e-coli, my son got e-coli from a cruise. tell her to also get acidolpholis from heath food store to put the good bacteria back in his body.

My son has Celiac Disease. He had the same symptoms. I have it as well and so does my older sister. It is more common than anyone knows and the doctors don't test for it because most of them know nothing about it. He has to have a blood test and if it is positive he then has to go for an endoscopy. We did it at Schneiders Childrens Hospital. My son was 6 years old when he was diagnosed. THey were great at the hospital. He will then have to go on a Gluten Free Diet. Tell your sister not to put him on the diet until he is tested because the test will not be accurate. You can FM me if you have any questions. Please let me know what happens.
