4th of July BBQ on the 4th or Sat the 6th?
Would you hold, or be more likely to attend a 4th of July BBQ on Thursday the 4th or Saturday the 6th?
I am having one actually on the 4th and only 2 people can come (out of about 14 invited, plus kids). I've always had a BBQ on the actual 4th, Im a little confused as to why Thursday isn't convenient. (I know my guests do not have work Thursday - and my Dh does work Saturday, which is why I couldn't have it then)

4th of July BBQ on the 4th or Sat the 6th?
I'm having my bbq on July 4th. We're starting early expecting people may have to leave relatively early since its a work night. We did the 4th last year too and had a great turn out.

Since the 4th is during the week, I think DH and I prefer just using it as a nice day to relax around the house.
We've been invited to a BBQ on the 6th and we will probably attend since it's a weekend and we have the next day to "recover" so to speak.

My office is closed on the 5th but many are not, including my DH - we are going to a BBQ on the 4th though, we don't have to stay til midnight.

Could they have other plans on the 4th?
I know last year the 4th was mid-week so a lot of people stayed in town, including us. Many people we know are taking off for the long weekend.

I guess they may just have other plans. I wasn't expecting a late night- lots of us have young kids.
Ed: its just disappointing since we don't get to see each other as often as before we all started having families.

We are having family over for a small bbq on the 4th and having our annual 4th bbq with friends on the 6th.
