5 1/2 week old and fighting sleep

DS is 5 1/2 weeks old and is fighting the sleep today. He has been up since 9 am and slept maybe 30 minutes.

I have tried rocking, the swing, a walk, white noise. Nothing is working. He has eaten and shouldn't be hungry although if he keeps up the crying it may be time to eat again.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried driving? My DS is the same way, and sometimes during the day I will just drive him around the block...It really helps!

Ive - He could be going through a growth spurt.

Also around the 6 week mark they all of the sudden start to become more alert and aware of their surroundings.

Is he cranky though?

Well the drive worked for 30 min until we stopped!

Anyone else have suggestions? Or is he just having a growth spurt or a bad day?

Emma is 6 weeks old now and she is def different from last week, she is more alert and does not sleep well during the day she is up and naps on and off all day
