I just finished book 1 and didn't care for it. Besides the sex scenes, I just felt like it was poorly written, and I want to kill Ana's inner goddess.
I'm a little more than halfway through and I find Ana's character annoying. I get the hype, but there are so many other books out there that are way better.
I agree...I am eh about it to be honest don't know if I will bother to finish.

Re: 50 Shades of Grey
Finished the trilogy- I had to go back and start from the beginning. I'm excited for 50 Shades of Christian too! It will be interesting to get the opposite perspective!

Re: 50 Shades of Grey
Loved the!! I actually wish there was a little less sex because it took away from the story I found myself skimming past those parts- there were just too many sex scenes! But still loved!!!!!
I want another book!

Re: 50 Shades of Grey
Just about finished the 1st book and I like it. The sexy parts ARE indeed sexy but as a romance book reader I was not at all shocked or surprised by any of the scenes. I can see why there is this hype though if people never read this type of book. I read the BDB books, Linda Howard and Nora Roberts too. But I'm looking forward to starting #2.

Re: 50 Shades of Grey
I just finished the first book
I enjoyed it at times...the first 35-40 pages were HORRIBLY written..i couldn't understand why anyone read the series
But then I couldn't put it down
I will say-as much as everyone hyped up the sex it had NOTHING on the sleeping beauty trilogy

Okay, I'm glad someone else said this. Because I really want to NOT like this book. I just got past the first 50 pages (yes, it took my a week and I'm an avid reader), but it's gotten much better. I mean it's all a bunch of fluff, but it's fun fluff. The first part of the book is paaaaaiiiinful though!

I don't think I'm even going to continue the trilogy, but I DLed the first BDB book! I think that's more my style.

When you finish Book 1 you will want to read Book 2 and the same goes for Book 3.

I'm more than halfway through #2 and honestly, I like it more than the first. I feel like there is more to the story now than just the romance (if you can call it that).

Do you get more insight into Christian's character and the way he is? I must say I am intrigued by that. I want to know more about Mrs. Robinson and why he is exactly the way he is.
I will admit I was utterly and completely disgusted with that contract. If she had just up and signed it, I would've ended my reading right there and then. I don't know about anyone else, but I consider myself a strong-willed person and my whole being repells at the idea of being the "submissive". He dictates what she can eat, when she exercises, she can't masturbate?! HELL NO. I don't care if his d!ck was made of gold, HELL NO.

Just keep reading!! lolol
Book 2 & 3 give you so much more about Christian and Mrs. Robinson and you see a different side of Ana too.
Getting to know Christian more was the hook for me. I really could care less about the sex scenes.

Yeah, same here. They are a little ridiculous to me. I definitely want to know more about Christian though. Ana better be less annoying in the next one though!

She's still annoying but you see a little more of her defiance.

Re: 50 Shades of Grey
I finished #2 and I definitely liked it more than #1. I am about 100 pages into #3 and I do like the new style (flashbacks) of the storytelling but it definitely is slower than the first two books. Hopefully it will pick up. By now I am totally over the sex scenes though.

The sex scenes got old really fast. I liked the second and third book so much better than the first. They were more interesting because you get to delve into Christian and learn about him.

Re: 50 Shades of Grey
Read #1 hated it! Couldn't get past the poor writing, and found the sex scenes very unsexy.
