5.5 months and I find her sleeping on her belly
Is that ok or should I turn her over and risk waking her???
It's not really on her belly, but more on her forearms and elbows, knees bent and butt in the air

Re: 5.5 months and I find her sleeping on her belly
My doc said so long as their face isn't in the mattress not to worry my son sleeps like that since he was born. We called it the tush in the air position. WHenever he would lay down my hubby would say assume the position.

she's been a roller for a while, but this is the first that we are finding her on her belly at night.
I guess I'll leave her, she seems to like it

If she got there on her own then she's fine. Ryan's been belly sleeping since 13wks - ever since he's been rolling back to belly.

Re: 5.5 months and I find her sleeping on her belly
5.5 months is when my DS started sleeping on his belly. This was after he could roll over and lift his head on his own. The doctor reassured us it was fine- and he slept much better after this- including his naps
ETA- he also does the butt in the air- so I had to add diaper doublers so he would not leak

This happened to us around that age as well----I leave him! He now gets himself comfy no matter what way I put him down.

Re: 5.5 months and I find her sleeping on her belly
Hi Jen,
Gavin has been sleeping on his stomach since about 4 months. That's when we had to stop the Miracle Blanket.
I was really nervous about it at first, but I watched him for like an hour and he moves his head and changes positions.

DD does this too and she's been doing it since about 3 months or so. I've tried putting her back on her back and she just goes right back to her stomach.

Re: 5.5 months and I find her sleeping on her belly
I wouldn't worry. Your DD has been rolling over forever! Or at least before mine - and my DD plants her face IN the mattress and gives me a heart attack but when I try to move her she moves right back. I really don't think you can stop them once they're mobile.

Re: 5.5 months and I find her sleeping on her belly
if she is strong enough to roll over, she should be fine... my son started sleeping on his belly at 3.5 months (he was a better sleeper that way)
