6 week old and gas
My DD is 6 weeks old today and has been EBF. She occasionally gets a bottle of breast milk if I need to be away for one of her feedings. Over the last week I have noticed she is experiencing a lot more gas which is making her uncomfortable. She tenses up, pulls her legs up, etc. She does pass a lot of gas, but it still seems to be bothering her. I have done the bicyle legs and tried holding her in different postions, but sometimes none of that helps.
Is there anything else i can do to try to make her more comfortable?
Thanks!

Re: 6 week old and gas
our fool proof position was laying tummy down on the palm of my hand.. If it was REALLY bad and that didn't work then we went to Mylicon..

Re: 6 week old and gas
mylicon always worked for us. and i agree with the PP...putting pressure on their bellys helps. i would hold ian high on my shoulder so his belly would be pressing against me.

Re: 6 week old and gas
Thank you for your replies! I think we might try the mylicon drops. I have tried putting pressure on her belly and holding her on my hand like that, but it doesn't seem to be helping these days

Re: 6 week old and gas
we tried Mylicon and gripe water and neither worked for DS' gas. We gave him chammomile tea...not a lot but enough that it calmed his tummy. He is FF so it may be different. We also had to change his formula.

Re: 6 week old and gas
Try doing bicycles with babies legs and watch your diet (avoid gassy foods). Unfortuantly, most babies have a transient lactose sensativity until about 12 weeks of age - which is the main culprit for gas.
