Why are the non Trump supporters so eager to see him fail? Honest question. Had Hillary won I definitely would not have been happy but I sure as hell wouldn't be hoping that she fails us.
I don't think they are eager to see him fail. I'm certainly not. A fail for him is a fail for us all. But when he's already appointing anti-semites to his cabinet and people who don't believe in climate change to head the EPA I lose all faith. I already didn't have any to begin with and he's making it worse. I feel like he only took this job, which he doesn't even want, to stroke his ego. He loved hearing people gather and chant his name. And we all are going to suffer for his ego-mania. I hope to be wrong. I want nothing more than to be wrong. I'll feel so much better if I am. I hope he does an amazing job. I'm just not confident he will.
This exactly. And his actions in the 5-6 days he's been president-elect have not given me much hope for the next 4 years. I would love nothing more than to be wrong because then POC, LGBTQ+, and non-christians would have little to fear, I wouldn't be worried about my daughter and healthcare, and our taxes won't increase. Please prove me wrong trump. But I'm not hopeful at all.

This country has turned into an extremely sensitive, hysterical, offended society over everything.
You have proven how ignorant you are. You should remove yourself from these boards now. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is tired of listening to you.
It's not your place to tell someone no one is listening and to remove themselves. Half of America was listening. Keep trying to silence people and then wonder why you wound up with Trump.---- You can choose not to respond to posts or posters you don't want to hear anymore. And just because more people are not vocal about their support for Trump, does not mean they are not reading and agreeing. They just can't be bothered with these draining arguments back and forth. No one will convince the other side at this point I am sure.

I think it's $400k and I agree who cares? Like that's going to erase the damage he's done. White America rising and I'm supposed to applaud him for not taking the salary? $400k is likely his annual budget for socks or ties or his wife's botox injections anyway so it's not like it means much to him. And by the way I would feel the same if it were HRC or any other president to forego the salary. I don't care.
Botox injections are really not that expensive. If you throw in hair, make-up, juvederm and spa treatments you might be able to get there....

Bloomberg didn't take a salary either.
But...really? People are easily offended at white supremacy and climate change denial?
I should hope so.

Megs you are contradicting yourself. First you say this country has become extremely sensitive and then you are blaming others for silencing you. Do you see that you are also silencing those that are taking a stand about Trumps election by dismissing them and calling them hysterical etc?

I think you have me confused with another poster. I don't recall ever using the word hysterical in reference to anyone or anything. Also I do not recall saying the country has become "sensitive". I tried to search my own posts before I commented but the search function isn't working.

I am not going to comment on who he hired, I don't know enough about that to form an opinion. I also didn't put climate change at the top of my list, so no, I won't be commenting on that either.

60 Minutes Trump interview
Ok he's another honest question......he's been president-elect for just about 6 full days. Is he, or any other president-elect, expected to do that much and less than a week? I don't understand why people are expecting so much from him already.

Big pause here… I'm going to respect everyone even if I don't agree with them.
But you really need to look into the people that he hired or is talking about hiring… You need to research all of that and form an opinion. Even if it's not the same one everyone else has, you need to look into it and form your own opinion. It's important.
If you don't know about this or that aspect of it, you're not going to have a good debate here… You're not gonna have a good case for your side. And maybe that's not what you're looking for, but I think it would greatly help to look into it so that maybe you can understand what some people are saying here and why they are against trump
And I suggest this very respectfully.

This is not even my statement. I didn't coin this phrase, others are saying this. It means that people are tired of being told what their priority issues should be, what they should feel or care most about. All people's concerns are valid and everyone has different concerns. That's the way voting goes - The majority wins (don't bother bringing up electoral college and popular vote, electoral college declares the winner so no need to get into that again). Some people will lose based on who won and some will win, every presidential election. If you keep trying to silence those with differing opinions, they may not express them out loud but rest assured they will use the voice they have when it comes to voting---- and that they did. eta- It also means that if people weren't constantly silenced about their support for Trump, maybe it would not have been so shocking and secretive that so many supported him and he would win. Had it been more out in the open, and people not think HRC had it in the bag, then maybe the democrats should have put someone up other than Hillary if they realized that Trump would have the ability to win over her.

I am not debating about who he hired for this reason. I have not commented once on it, for that reason. I don't know enough to form an opinion and probably won't for a good amount of time. And don't expect me to.

Im sorry, I didnt realize being vehemently opposed to the man elected to the highest office in the country, doing EXACTLY what you feared he would, proving you right instead of wrong, by giving a KNOWN racist, misogynist, bigot, etc a platform and voice in our government, by legitimizing him instead of condemning the things he stands for......how thats "carrying on." Tell me, please SOMEONE, WHY after these appointments I should NOT be disheartened, WHY I should give him a chance, why it doesnt enforce the EXACT things I feared about him. Someone tell me why we are wrong, instead of telling us to stop whining without telling me WHY I should not be bothered by these things.

Good for you?
Some of us are actually concerned about marginalized communities who are being affected.
Do you know that there is a significant number of sexual assault victims that have been triggered by trump. That is something that should not be taken lightly. Are you going to tell them to get over it?

Re: 60 Minutes Trump interview
From David Duke, former KKK leader:
"I think that's excellent," former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke told CNN's KFile. "I think that anyone that helps complete the program and the policies that President-elect Trump has developed during the campaign is a very good thing, obviously. So it's good to see that he's sticking to the issues and the ideas that he proposed as a candidate. Now he's president-elect and he's sticking to it and he's reaffirming those issues." Duke, who last week lost his longshot bid for the US Senate seat from Louisiana, said he plans on expanding his radio show and is hoping to launch a 24 hour online news show with a similar approach to Comedy Central's Daily Show. He argued Bannon's position was among the most important in the White House. "You have an individual, Mr. Bannon, who's basically creating the ideological aspects of where we're going," added Duke. "And ideology ultimately is the most important aspect of any government."
Seriously, no one that supports Trump can see a problem with this or see how anti-Trumpers would have a problem with this? We are NOT whining, THIS is a HUGE problem. And problem is an understatement.

Everyone seems to be pleading ignorance or apathy. I don't know which is worse. Sane, smart people should be terrified, no matter who they supported originally. It isn't about Hillary or the election any more.
Good for Glenn Beck, a noted conservative, who spoke out. History will prove those who are not speaking out now, to be dangerous cowards. I just wonder what we'll be looking back on.

Doesn't matter he's not the President yet. He has promised to be the best, most amazing President ever. I am holding him to that. So far, it seems like he's not even sure what he's supposed to be doing. The title won't come till January but the work DOES begin now.
