Snow in the forcast.....with FIXED Map!!
This is the map that waterspout had been linking on her updates. I am also including the link as well.

Follow Tri State Weather on Facebook. They are the absolute best and never hype anything... there's a lot of weather jargon on there but they really try to break it down. Basically, there are 2 models that are forecasting this storm. One shows a HUGE snowfall for our area, and one has a slushy mess. The more models come in, and the closer it gets, we will see which model wins out.
Stay tuned. I heard 10+ Thursday to Friday. Of course that can change....and its what I have heard.

Sounds like from this report and news day online, LI is getting a few inches but then it will be rain and ice. I didn't see anything about 10 inches and I really hope NOT. lol.
The chance for rain and snow ranges between 40 percent and 70 percent from Wednesday to Friday, the service said.

If you go by intelicast.com (which has been pretty accurate IMO over the last few years) it doesn't seem as hazardous as the weather.gov makes it out to be. We'll see what happens, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I will making sure that I have work brought home with me tomorrow night just in case I need to cancel office hours on Thursday and/or Friday.

As of what i read, weather.com, we are getting a mix as we (long island) missed the line for "all" snow. Yes, snow will be major for North of course but LI misses the brunt of the storm.

Because I freak out driving in snow and ice. Something about having no control of my vehicle that just freaks me out. But I am nutty like that.
I don't care if its January in Antarctica...I will freak out.
If I got to sit home all cozy sipping cocoa by a fire maybe I'd feel different. (But probably not)

Ugh. I'm kinda worried about this. I'm in Georgia now and we are starting our drive up on Thursday. We planned to stay in Virginia Thursday night, and then finish the second leg on Friday. My dad's surprise party is Sunday. I'm really hoping this is just being hyped up. And I love love love snow, but it always seems to affect my travel plans at this time of year.
