9/1 UPDATE - Saw the Vet... Sick dog, need advice.

Our 11 month old female golden retriever has been vomiting this evening.

I put her in her crate, she seemed fine, at 5:25 and when we returned at 6:15 she had vomited twice. I let her out, cleaned the crate, washed her off, dried her best I could. She was quite playful. We came back in, I automatically gave her a treat (wasn't even thinking, I was on autopilot). 15 minutes later she vomited again.

Mostly seems to be a lot of water and pieces of a stick.

Should I feed her dinner?

If this continues at what point should I call the vet?

UPDATE: She was pestering me for food. I gave her 1/2 cup of her usual kibble, she ate it right up. Afterward she was playful and seems to be her usual self. I'm hoping she'll hold it down.

UPDATE 9/1/11 afternoon:
She urinated in her crate last night. She has never, from the day we got her done that. When we let her outside she is constantly squatting, looks like she's straining to urinate so I took her to the vet. They suspect a UTI. Her temp is normal, they kept her for a few hours to do urine culture, and rectal exam. They think there may have been a little blood in her urine, pointing to a UTI. She is now on antibiotics and sleeping away on the floor next to me. Poor little thing. I'll update again after the vet calls tomorrow.

sounds like it was the stick she ate that made her sick. my pup throws up when he eats too much grass/leaves/sticks.

how is she doing? when my dogs have been sick, we give them white rice, and sometimes plain boiled chicken for a day or so. if she can hold down a little water and a little bland food, I would give it a day and then slowly work back to regular food. If she can't hold anything down, I would call the vet sooner.

Re: UPDATED Sick dog, need advice.

if she doesn't seem better today or starts vomiting blood, call the vet asap! since she threw up pieces of a stick she may have swallowed a larger stick that got stuck somewhere.
