We are planning on adopting him. When we first started the process we thought they would place AJ with us since he is a relative. However, NJ requires that everyone become a licensed Foster Parent, relative or not. So after we get him, we start the adoption process. There is a law that if the baby is in foster care over 18 months, they are open for adoption. And DH's cousin (mom) know this is whats best for him and will be able to have a relationship with him.
Sorry, gave you more infor than you asked. But I dont mind questions, I figure it can help other families out.

sounds like a win win for AJ, he gets loving, stable parents and when his mom gets her sh!t together, he can have a relationship with her too
