Daunte Wright
Horrible situation. Another person who was not innocent and did not comply.
We need to teach our children they need to listen to the police. No matter how bad it is or what you did.

True he didn’t comply so he was absolutely wrong for his actions and this all could have been avoided but the officer is not innocent in this ordeal either.
She admitted to mistakenly taking out her gun instead of a taser and shot him that is a big mistake to make.
Not sure how I feel about her being charged but she certainly should’ve been fired from her job and not just be allowed to resign.
In any another job if you make that big of mistake you’re getting fired.

This guy was trying to flee not actively attacking the officer.

This is a tough one. I do agree that he was not completely innocent and should not have tried to run. But that doesn't mean he deserved to be shot and killed.
I also agree with the manslaughter charge. I do believe it was a mistake- but a mistake that cost someone his life. She should not get away with it just because she is in law enforcement. A regular citizen would have been charged, and this is no different.
This is so sad and heartbreaking on both sides and for everyone involved.

I wouldn’t want to be in law enforcement right now. I was watching the dash cam of an officer getting shot during a routine road stop. I couldn’t imagine the adrenaline going when you know someone has a past record and is resisting.
Unfortunately this mistake is going to ruin this officers life. And this young man’s mistake of resisting arrest cost him his life. It’s a lose lose situation.
My hope is that all officers will be wearing body cams and cars will have dash cams so that maybe, just maybe, more people will comply because if an officer is truly doing something wrong it won’t be a ‘he said, she said’ thing but it will all be on camera.

I was told from the day I got my permit. If you get pulled over you leave both hands on the steering wheel and if you need to get your license or registration you tell the officer where it is and ask permission to get it. You don’t talk back. You don’t argue. I was also taught to obey the law, but that’s another story.

I was told from the day I got my permit. If you get pulled over you leave both hands on the steering wheel and if you need to get your license or registration you tell the officer where it is and ask permission to get it. You don’t talk back. You don’t argue. I was also taught to obey the law, but that’s another story.
The mother was even on the phone with him going to give him the insurance info and then he was asked to get out as he had a warrant and he fought them to get back in the car. Always, always just do as you are told. If the cops are found out to be wrong you can do that at a later time, alive.

This is the problem with this situation is she admitted to accidentally grabbing her gun rather than then the taser. So she can’t use the fact that she was fearing for her life for the reason is why she shot him. she said she made an error and that error resulted in killing someone.
She deserves consequences for her action. Exactly what is fair and what’s not I can’t decide.

Meaning, you do as you are told so you don’t get yourself in more trouble. It shouldn’t be told to only 1 gender and as you can see by many stories, not listening is not working out for many of these people.
Maybe teaching both genders not to be criminals and do the right thing we will have less of this.

I never said that but my point is you listen to the law and you won’t get into worse situations.
You can sue the police after the fact. You can’t do so after you are dead.
