Family trip locations?

Looking for places to go. My mom/dad, me/hubby, sis and her 2 older teens and brother and older teen. It is a contest and the best trip wins!

We have been together on many trips including: Iceland, Punta Cana, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Cape May, Crystal springs resort, bahamas and some others.

I was thinking Panama City in Panama. I found a great resort in the jungle with tours and a huge pool and 5 restaurants on property. Anyone ever been there?

Also, need a USA option???

Open to ALL IDEAS! TIA

Cost - up to $15K or so.

Ireland, UK, Paris, Australia are all no bc we have done those. No cruise either.

My vote would be someplace in Europe, but I am not someone who likes to just sit poolside all day. I love to explore! We did Italy and it was amazing. My next trip will either be Amsterdam, Belgium, or France.

I have heard Bali is beautiful.

In the US, maybe the california coast? San Diego?

Re: Family trip locations?

In the US, I would say maybe a Florida resort, there are some amazing ones down there. Even Miami can be fun.
Or West Coast like San Diego?
It depends how active you want it to be too...like hiking/adventure or lying on a beach/pool relaxing

How about the national parks? A few years ago, we went to Zion and Bryce. They were beautiful! You can also include a few days in Las Vegas.

Costa Rica has everything you are looking for and it's a cheaper option.
I'm bi coastal so if you want to recommendations for CA, let me know.

I also suggest CO. Denver, Colorado Spring and then going up to Rocky Mountain St park - great trip with lots to do and different climates.

Have never been to panama but would like to go, however I second Costa Rica. It's amazing. there are also a bunch of all inclusives if you want to go that route. We spent a little time in the rainforest/volcano area and then spent the rest of our time near the beach. Tamarindo is awesome to visit for the teens because there are tons of surf lessons on the beach and cool places to hang out. It's amazing.

We are visiting the Azores this summer so I can't tell you how it is but it looks amazing. I can't wait.

As far as the US goes, it's always hard for me to come up with domestic locations but I would like to do a trip to Yosemite or Yellowstone. And all the national parks in Utah look amazing but might be hot as hell in the summer.

Azores looks amazing! Does it seem difficult to travel to? I look forward to your sharing how the trip was.

So that's the thing. There are inexpensive direct flights from NY but it's on Azores Airlines which gets not so great reviews. The planes look outdated (no TVs on seatbacks) and apparently they lose luggage and have delays. I think that the delays are out of their control a lot - it seems that the azores can be very foggy. But we are just going to take our chances and I am praying for the best. I think I am also going to invest in the tile things that let you know where your stuff is!

I love Costa Rica, I think I wrote a review about that and Yellowstone on the Travel board. Banff is amazing also. So beautiful there.

Family trip locations?

I also love Costa Rica but haven't been in about 10 years. It was amazing when we went. Young House Love (blogger) did a write up about her vacation in Costa Rica with her family that might help you plan:

A good friend of mine just got back from Banff in Canada and her pictures were incredible and she also said the food was great.

I would go to Colorado. There are some great hot springs and places to explore.
Also, I have always wanted to go to Vermont and do the dog sledding experience. You'd have to do this during winter time though.

Instead of Vermont for dog sledding, I would highly recommend Quebec. We went last year during their winter festival and stayed at the Chateau Frontenac. The dog sledding in Quebec was so much fun. Besides the sledding we were able to play with the dog and see the puppies. It was so cute. Also the winter festival was a lot of fun.

What about Sedona?

I also saw one of my friends just went glamping somewhere by the Grand Canyon and it looked amazing. You could also rent RVs and drive to the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon, Zion, etc.

Family trip locations?

Puerto Rico - US territory no passport needed.

There are many beautiful airbnbs for rent. I love the west side of the island by Cabo Rojo. Beautiful beaches and restaurants. There are also lot sof things to do on the east side ..the rainforest (El Yunque) also you can take a boat to Vieques which is an island off the main island with beautiful beaches and things to do. San Juan also has a bunch of historical places to see and great restaurants.
