A bit premature but some potty training questions
I know I am probably getting waaaayyyy ahead of myself here, but I figured I would ask anyway. Sienna turned 16 months today. Lately, she has been getting very upset when she has a poop diaper and for the first time today, she came over to me after she pooped, grabbed me and pointed to her diaper and said something like Mama, here. I am very proud of her for telling me which makes me think of potty training. I know she is definitely not ready, but what are the signs I look for to know when she is ready? When should I get a potty, just so she can get used to what it is? Any other things I can start doing now to start prepping her to potty train? I am definitely not going to push her before she is ready or anything like that. TIA!

Re: A bit premature but some potty training questions
I don't think there is any harm in having a potty at this age. My younger DS is 18 months and sits on the potty--he thinks it's hilarious--when he poops if I ask him if he wants to go sit on the potty he runs the bathroom, although he is usually done going by the time we get there. As far as other signs, I trained my older DS when he was just over 2 when he showed dislike for having a dirty diaper, could talk more and showed interest in the potty. GL!

I don't think there is any harm in getting a potty now. My mom trained me and my brother by 2 years old, so it's possible she's ready.
