A couple of furniture questions...
Q1. Are you using the dresser as a changing table?
A rep at BRU said that I shouldnt bother ordering a changing table if I'm getting the dresser. He just plopped down a changing pad on the dresser and said that's pretty much all you need.
Q2. How much drawer space do I really need?
I have a closet and I'm getting a dresser that matches the crib. the dresser has 3 drawers on each side and a cabinet drawer in the middle.
There's another piece that matches the crib furniture I'm questioning. It's a tall chest drawer. It has maybe 6 drawers. It's a little shorther than an armoire. I'm not sure if I should get this. It may be too much and not needed.

Re: A couple of furniture questions...
My opinions:
1. It depends on how tall the dresser is and how comfortable you are with it.
I have a "changing table" but it's really just a flat surface and I put the pad on it and it works fine.
2. I went with a 5 drawer dresser because I felt it would grow with the baby more.
So if you are looking at this as long term furniture, it might be more beneficial to have more drawers.
I have 8 drawers all together and they are filled to the gills already. However I don't have a closet, so it may be a wash.

Re: A couple of furniture questions...
1) we got a changing table, a couple of my friends have the dressers with the pad on it and while it looks OK, 1) i didn't want to ruin a dresser as obviously pee and poop doesn't always stay in a diaper and 2) when they get bigger, its harder to change them on a dresser (my friend has a 15 month old and she struggles with dresser/pad scenario now that he moves a lot). its really your choice and what works with your space, she didn't have a lot of room for a changing table and a dresser so thats what she chose and when he was younger it wasn't a big deal
2) we have a 6 drawer dresser (3 drawers on each side-you can see pics in my profile), and a closet that my father did shelving, etc (he has a closet business) so we have tons of room for the babies clothes. truthfully, we prob didn't need the dresser too, but we had it so my DH redid it and it will be helpful down the road anyway

Re: A couple of furniture questions...
I got a dresser and we are using that as the changing table for now, and will just remove the pad once he's out of diapers. The piece has 4 long drawers and then two side drawers that are good for wipes and cleaning stuff.
We also bought an armoire - and we really don't need it right now bc my DH built a nice closet but it is great to hide some of the stuff that I have no clue where to put. I'll see if I can find the pics for you again and will post them here.

We are using the dresser as a changing table. We were told by so many new parents that they basically will use any flat suface to change a baby, ie: floor, bed, couch, etc.

Re: A couple of furniture questions...
We're using the dresser as a changing table. I can't attest to how well it works yet, but it *seems* like it will work out well.
Our dresser has 3 huge drawers and a little door thingy. We also have a large closet, so I felt that was enough for us (plus an area in the room where I plan on adding shelving).
I think a lot depends on how big the room is, what kind of closet space you have, and just plain personal preference.

Re: A couple of furniture questions...
I will be using the small dresser that's part of the babys furniture as a changing table also by putting the changing pad on it. They sold an extra piece that went on top of the dresser to use it as a changing table but I didn't think I needed it. The changing pad will protect the top of the dresser and as the baby gets older you can change them in other places.
My baby furniture is pretty bulky and has enough drawers between the dresser and armoire so I didn't want to add more.
