a few fence questions
Hoping some of you can help! I have a few questions about my old wood stockade fence that is falling apart:
1. The windstorm blew one of the panels off the post and it leaned into our back neighbor's yard. DH said that since it is leaning towards his yard and he has the "good side of the fence" he should be the one to nail it back up to the post, since we cannot do it from our side. I think because the fence is technically ours, we would need to go into his yard to repair it... thoughts??
2. Also we will eventually need to replace this fence- we have two neighbors, (one in the back, another on the side, we are on a corner so no one on the other side) and both neighbors currently use our fence as their fence as well between us (not sure if that makes sense!). If we were to go in and put up a new fence, would we need permission from them even if they did not offer to contribute any money towards it?
3. Finally, what do you think is the best best for a durable, as maintenance free as possible fence,- PVC?? And I would love any recommendations of companies that charged you a reasonable rate.
Thanks!!!

Re: a few fence questions
1. Your fence, your repair.
2. No, you don't need permission. Your property, you do what you like.
3. Definitely PVC. We used Liberty Fence. They were priced right and did a great job!

Re: a few fence questions
that's what I thought! I told DH we would have to go to his property to repair it and he is being so pig-headed
thanks for the recommendation! I will definitely try to get some quotes soon. I just didn't know if i needed permission because my BIL kept telling me I needed to ask first, even if we were paying for it all, since they technically share the fence.
Thanks!
