A long road... some thoughts and update on my IF consult!
Wow, this just hit me.
I bumped the "recent bfp" thread for Reenie and got this message:

Onto better things..
My IF consult went really well. It wasn't with an RE, but with my regular ob/gyn. He is very knowledgeable and is being pretty proactive. He made me feel very comfortable and answered any questions DH or I had!
Basically, our plan is.. (if we don't get pregnant this month) I will call on CD 1 and then we'll schedule CD 3 bloodwork and an HSG for somewhere between CD 7-10. And then we'll go from there!
He said he didn't feel comfortable putting me on Clomid because based on my charts, OPKs, CBEFM, I am ovulating and he said that I am very healthy and all Clomid would do would be increase the chances of me having multiples.
He said we are doing everything right so far, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to help us get pregnant. Basically he will do all of the preliminary testing, and should we need IUI - we can decide whether to continue with him for that or go to an RE. He regularly consults with REs as well and he's very up to date in his knowledge.
A few things I asked him just for my own clarification...
- He said that the Instead Cups are fine to use. He can't see them hurting our chances in any way... but he had never heard of them being for TTC purposes.
- He said that it's good to lay in bed for 30 minutes or so after BDing. He said that staying in that position encourages the sperm to go to the back of the vaginal cavity toward the cervix. (This is not to say that going to the bathroom afterwards will hurt your chances, but I told him that laying in bed for 30 minutes is what I normally do, and that was his response).
- He recommended we skip last night and BD today. He said an every other day plan is best for us. He also said that DH's volume, although low, is fine. He said it shouldn't affect our chances too much, but to BD every other day to let the sperm count replenish.
I just feel really happy about having a plan of action! Bloodwork and possible HSG were my thoughts as well from reading things here and on the IF board. So it seems we are in line in terms of the best next steps for me!

IT SUCKS!! LOL its fast but painful but it helps to know if anything is blocked or wrong. i had it done and pray to NEVER have it done again

the sad thing is I was on this board when you originally posted that thread.....
I'm loving that you and nikkibean both got answers today and a great plan.

It makes me feel like I'll get answer too.

So glad that you have a plan.
I can't believe that thread was 43 weeks ago.  Wow. It sort of stings seeing how long that thread has been around and we are still here to see it but not add to it.
I am that this plan will get you to your bfp.
