Abby goes in to get spayed tomorrow
PLEASE wish us good luck.
The spaying with Molly still has me scarred (the vet messed her up REALLY badly) and I am just praying this goes ok. I can't deal with any more bad things happening to my puppies.

If you live in NYC you can go to the ASPCA mobile clinic, $25 for spay or neuter..top shelf organization. If you live in Nassau and Suffolk county there are low costs spay neuter clinics...they too are top shelf.
Spaying will give her a healthier and longer life. It will prevent pyometria and breast tumors.

This isn;t a matter of her not wanting to spay. Her little Molly had a botched spay that really messed the poor little girl up- all from a supposed "reputable" vet. She's just worried.
Diana~ Abby will be just fine! I'm assuming your current vet is aware of the complications Molly had?

I did not imply it was a matter of not wanting to spay. I was providing information for all about low cost spay neuter and the reasons why animals should be spayed!

If you can prove the second surgery is a result of a botched surgery and you paid on a credit card you should contact your credit card company, request to dispute charges. Also, if you have incurred additional costs as a result of the first surgery you should look into suing in small claims court.
The number one thing should be that the dog endured needless suffering and now another surgery but sadly that is not always recognized in a court of law.

good luck w/ molly ~ can u let us know what vet botched her up since i need to get my puppy neutered in the next couple months and i dont want to take any chances. is it in nassau? anyone get puppy spayed/neutered at locust valley veterinary clinic? that is where we plan on going if i do not hear eny objections. GOOD LUCK and make sure u r going to a place that comes highly recommened.

Molly was the one who had a botched surgery - and the one who messed up did pay for all of her new vet bills and the second surgery.
The new vet knows what happened to Molly and how scared we are with Abby. I know I have to - but a part of me doesn't even want to get her spayed. I just think back and think of how many things changed with Molly - and ultimately do believe that it made her the way she was - which led to her death (so protective and crazed - and chasing after the car that hit her.
Sorry - it just all still feels raw - and I hate that we have to do this tomm. I may may may cancel for another week or so - I have to see.

Hi! THank you so much for all your good wishes! I dropped her off first thing this morning. Of course - I was crying like a baby - the poor vet was handing me tissues.
They said what happened to Molly at the other vet was like 1 in 10,000 -- that she is in great hands and they will take great care of her.
They said the surgery will be early afternoon - so I am going to call them if I don't hear by 3.
I can pick her up anytime after 12. The doctor said he has a feeling he will see me there at 12:01. 
I just really hope this doesn't change her personality. She really is the sweetest dog I have ever met.

The doctor just called me not too long ago. She said the surgery went great - and Abby still has both of her kidneys
We can pick her up tomm.
Can't wait!
