? about FSA's (Flexible spending accounts)...
Unsolved mystery (for me, anyway  )
What's the deal with the leftover $, where does it go? Every year the contribution level is a guessing game for me, and last year I forfeited over $1K in unused FSA $. So what gives, where does all that money go?

it goes bye bye - where into the economy does it go? I don't know...BUT...
realize that you can use it on Tylenol, Immodium, Pepto, vitamins, (possibly) band aids...
check out drugstore.com - they list which things are FSA...

I believe it goes back to the employer.
You can use it on lots of OTC drugs. Duane Reade & Rite Aid tell you on your receipt was was FSA eligible. I just learned that Halls cough drops were! I had no idea.

last year I had $500 left and did a giant shopping trip to drugstore.com.
Don't let it expire, you should use it.
My friend had $2K left and bought a telescope at her opticians office. For some reason she was able to do that.

I always run out of $$ in my FSA & I do the MAX $2K. I just had my DH do $500 from his employer (to start with) but his is a reimbusement account not a debit account like mine.
