Why yes you do an extra $25 in your check a week and also you get an extension until Dec 31st. DH is loving this becuase 1) FL sucks with the amt of unemployment only $200 a week and 2) He can't find anything and been out of work since August.
We are just squeaking by and everyone else is getting the money. Instead of bailing out the automakers and banks (who are both collasping again) they should have given each tax payer $10,000 to help them get out of the hole.

Where in all of this does it say anything about sending a check to "illegal aliens" - who BTW, are "illegal" so they don't pay taxes so where would they send the check?!
NOT true at all. I do quite a bit of pro bono immigration work and MANY illegal immigrants DO pay income taxes. In fact, having a record of paying taxes works in your favor when seeking asylum or seeking another form of protection in order to get permanent resident status.
I never knew this. How are they able to pay taxes? I am not asking in a mean way at all either I am just curious to see how that works.[/QUOTE
Many undocumented workers work under a Tax ID number. Funny, they cannot get legal status but the governernment WILL take their money anyway - if they are willing to pay it. Many undocumented workers want to pay their fair share in anticpation of getting legal staus and this, as a PP mentioned, works greatly in their favor.

I was actually only saying it in response to the ignorance of the original statement. Someone who is truly trying to stay under the radar such as a day laborer may not be paying taxes so they would not get a check. I understand that many undocumented workers pay taxes, we have an Ecuadorian woman who works at one of my jobs who pays taxes, leases her car, etc. in the hopes of gaining permanent resident status.
