Accident yesterday...

So yesterday I am in the car (passenger seat) with my MIL driving her trailblazer and Jacob in the backseat. We were at a light on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown when all of a sudden we get slammed full force from behind, enuf to throw my cell phone out of my hand..(again, i wasnt driving). I get out of the truck in the middle of the road and look to see what the hell just rammed us and its a Levittown SCHOOL BUS! (There were no kids on board)

I of course check the baby, he is whimpering a bit, just very scared, and my MIL banged her head. I get out of the car and just loose it and start cursing at this girl who is driving the bus.. I threw a pen at her windshield that I had in my hand, screaming "What the F is wrong with you?? She doesnt say anything, just waves me to pull over.

My MIL pulls over, I call the cops, take the baby out, he has his head on my shoulder whimpering and she continues to sit on the bus. The cops come, we give our info, and 10 min later a bald white guy and another black guy show up.
I'm fuming, and I'm like "LOOK WHO'S DRIVING A BUS WOULD YOU PLEASE!!!!" And I look over at her and she is applying makeup, and fixing her hair in the mirror...and keeps looking at her watch like she is just sooooooo bored.

I watch the bald white guy get on the bus he starts talking to her and then they look at us, and start laughing. He gets off the bus with a smirk on his face, and i said "excuse me, and you are??? "... he says "I'm the general manager of the bus company" all with a smirk on his face. The black guy starts taking polaroids to show any damage, and the bald guy continues to laugh and smirk. I asked the black guy, DOES HE FIND THIS FUNNY??? Doesnt even have the common decency to ask if my baby is okay, and then proceeds to LAUGH...????? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So like 45 min goes by, the cops write their report, and send us on our way. Thankfully my MIL's truck was not damaged although I dont know how after such a direct powerful hit by this huge bus. I was friggin burning burning burning inside from this Mother F'er (excuse my french) I wanted to slap the Sh*t out of the GM and the driver. I then strapped the baby in , and said to the driver loudly "NOW DRIVE CAREFULLY, DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO THAT??????

I then proceeded to call the bus company to file a complaint against the GM for his behavior at the scene. I said I really could care less about myself but he couldnt have the common human decency to ask if my son was okay? And then he proceeds to laugh and ignore my questions and walk around with a smirk on like he was about to bust out laughing at any moment? And although the person I spoke with was very apologetic and said they were def going to write up the complaint and submit it, I somehow highly doubt anything will come of it. It just makes me sick to think of how they acted and took it so lightly after seeing a baby emerge from our car. And this is a vehicle that drives CHILDREN AROUND! ughhh...

I took Jacob to the ped and he checked out fine, but now today my back is starting to bother me. I just needed to vent about this and whenever I think about what happened I wish I would have said "You mother F'er, C#ck Sucker, Piece of slimey dog Sh*t eating, ball licking, son of a b*tch BAST*RD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HOW F'ING DARE YOU!!!



But i was afraid I would have gotten arrested!!!

So that was my eventful day yesterday, and i swear I never would have reacted that way before DS was born, but after having him, it's like a switch that went off. I was like an eagle that swooped down to kill when my baby was in danger. My mommy claws were IN FULL EFFECT..

I just thank God we were all alright.

Wow...I'm glad your baby is okay..u should get your back checked out.If u dislocated a disc or something that company should pay for all damages including your back. Feel Better..I'm glad to see no one was seriously hurt.

I once called a bus company because I was driving behind a bus when there was one lane and it seemed like it was swirving and going slower than usual.,.. when I was able to pull up next to the bus the Driver was on her CELL PHONE.. and with children on the bus....So i called the bus company and reported her....

Unbelievable!

GO to the doctor about your back. Incase it gets worse or isomething more serious it is a good idea if you get checked so that you can prove it was from the accident later and levitown bus company can pay for any treatment.

I would absolutely get your back checked and send your bill and your sons to the bus company...see if they still think its funny! Why dont you also contact the SD to let them know what kind of freaks are driving their children. Glad you guys are okay.

OMG! How horrible!! I would have been a lunatic!

I work for a car insurance company handling claims related to personal injury. Your MIL's insurance is going to pay for medical bills incurred related to you or Jacob (its called no fault), but they will go after the bus company's carrier to get that money back. Let them know that you are injured so they can setup a claim for that. Let me know if you have any questions.

What jerks! I'm glad Jacob is ok but you definitely need to be checked out.

The laughing part makes me think it had more to do with the driver of the bus. She could be a new driver, the boss's daughter, etc.

Besides filing a claim, write a letter to the company regarding the GM's behavior (particularly the laughing part, he's not supposed to answer your questions outside of giving you the insurance) & the nonchalant attitude from the bus company. I would cc the school districts as an FYI.

I would want the company on notice.

At least you guys are ok. I wonder if you can file a complaint with the school district since they probably hire them. I don't think I would just let it go. Like you said there could have been a bus load of kids and those kids don't wear seatbelts and it could have turned into something tradgic.

Glad you are ok. A bus hit my mom's car once. There was no major damage. The same thing happened, though. The bus people that showed up were sooo rude. So were the people driving the bus. Where do they hire these people from?!?!

OMG, I'm so glad everything is OK. I think you should totally write to channel 11 or something and suggest that they investigat the bus company to see how many previous accidents they have had with their busses and drivers. the last thing you want is these people driving your kids around!

Also, I would complain to the BBB.

Thank goodness you are all okay, but how terrible that you were treated that way.
Please get your back checked out, don't wait...you can get damage to your spine from a simple fender bender.

WOW!! I would write a letter to the Superintendent of Schools and tell him that the bus company is going to give the school district a bad name with their reprehensible behavior. He/she should be aware of what type of idiots are in charge of their students' safety.

I am so glad that DS is okay. Of course, that's the most important thing. I would have flipped my wig too!!!!

that is complete and utter BS...you poor poor thing...I would have been fuming at that fat pig...how dare he laugh at a time like that....You should definitely get checked out and make a big deal out of this. I normally wouldnt but under the circumstances I would milk this for as much as you can only for the way this was handled.

We got side swiped when my dd was 6mths and I nearly killed the driver - another 18 year old girl!! my husband had to take me away from her as I was so mad I could have easily ripped her a new one.
