Acupuncture and FET

If you haven't been cycling prior and are getting ready for a FET is it okay to just do Acupuncture during the FET cycle or should you start the cycle before? When in the cycle did you go?

Also has anybody used Dr. Yang in Hicksville? http://www.dr-yang-acupuncture.com/index.htm
Based on her page and a recommendation I got she specializes in fertility. She is pretty expensive though. Anyone else you recommend in Eastern Nassau?

Thanks ladies!

Acupuncture and FET

I did acupuncture with my first ever FET earlier this month (and I did it with the IVF Freeze all that was 2 months before that). I went for a few weeks before the transfer, and the afternoon before transfer because there wasn't enough time the morning of to go. I started when I was on the Lupron and went like 4-5 weeks I think.

I needed to save money so I went to an acupuncture school in Mineola where last year students "practice" on you while supervised. It's $40 for consult and $30 for each follow up visit. It's the NY College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. They said they see a bunch of fertility patients because it's in the same building as RSofNY. Even my nurse at Dr. Bs office said other patients go there.

Re: Acupuncture and FET

I used Dr. Yang in 2011.

I bought I think 10 sessions in advance. It came to about $700 at the time.

I still have 2 sessions left that I never used. I stopped going to her b/c I didn't like her set up in her house.

Nothing is private except one room upstairs if you are lucky enough to get it which I would try to request it if available.

Her basement is set up with sheets separating you from the next person. So if anyone next to you is snoring; you're hearing it. IF they move, you hear it. It's kind of awkward because they are literally right there next to you. Not sure if she changed her set up since then.

I've so far done 3 acupuncture sessions and am starting my FET cycle this Wednesday. I go to acupuncture weekly and have a session scheduled for the day before and day after transfer as per the practice's recommendation. I am not in the LI area.

Fingers crossed it helps to thicken my lining!

Thanks. Those prices are way cheaper. So you started the cycle before?

She is really expensive. I was thinking of her because it seems like she specializes in fertility and is very close to where I live. Hmmm. Was her office on South Oyster Bay Road? I feel like she may have moved. I definitely don't want to hear people snoring. I used to go to Andy a couple of years ago in RVC but its so far and then the parking.

So the 3 sessions before your FET cycle were they on certain cycle days or just once a week? Just trying to figure out if I can just do acupuncture when the FET cycle starts or if I should start ahead of time. Thanks

I've been going for my IUI cycle this month. I went 1 time during my first week on Injectables, twice my second week on Injectables. My IUI was Saturday and I'll go back tomorrow (Tuesday). He usually does twice/week (Tuesday/Thursday) during your cycle but his office was closed one day during my first week. I'm not sure if tomorrow is my last one or Thursday but I'm really hoping its tomorrow because it's $80/session. Initial consult and first treatment was $120. I see Ron Sandoval on Jericho Tpke in Huntington. He is a fertility specialist. He's very nice and there are 3 individual treatment rooms.

I went to him as well outside of a medicated cycle hoping it would help on its own. I really liked him but I didn't do acupuncture my iui cycle, however thinking of going back maybe help tame my nausea. I really recommend him.

Just once a week based on when I decided to start going (soon after AF arrived and I started BC). I figured it couldn't hurt to squeeze in some extra sessions prior to the cycle (minus the pain to my bank account Chat Icon ).
