Admitting you have a problem is the first step
and Maddie admitted it last night.
She said "Mommy, I want to stop sucking my thumb." I told her that was terrific.
Then she said "I think I need help."
I asked what she wanted to do.
She said "I need to get some pickles to tape to my thumb."
We don't have pickles - not to mention the impracticality of taping them to her thumb. So today, we're starting out with Band-Aids on them.

She needed more help when the bandaid mysteriously disappeared off of her sucking thumb, but the other thumb still had it on....amazing how that happens, right?
We are using Thum (it's a nailpolish that tastes horrible). So far so good!
