forclosures are supposed to be quicker than short sales.....we are waiting to hear if our offer was accepted on a short sale - its been 2 months of waiting which has been torture!
from what i have read forclosure process is easier and less time
i WISH we could find a forclosure property b/c you can get a great deal

it is better then a short sale - only going through the bank and not the bank/seller(owner.) The only thing is you may have to take on back taxes and sometimes the bank will not accept offers just the price they listed but its worth it. I am in the process of looking at a few foreclosures now but the problem is I have to wait until May to really buy a house because we are trying to save up for emergency fund since most of the money that we have saved would go down for DP.

We bought a foreclosure (in FL) and had zero problems/stress. Honestly, it was so easy! We made an offer and the bank accepted (with a minor change) after 2 days, had the inspection and closed less than a month later.
